Listening to the callers to CSPIN proves you are correct. They watch the MSM and spew their lies on CSPIN.

I turned on C-spam this morning trying to catch a specific "guest" and heard 1 1/2 calls. Became ill and turned them off. You have a stronger stomach than I.

He has a very strong Foreign Policy, but that speech sucked!

I don't think so. Look at the Transcript. It was a necessarily muted response, but there's a lot of information in it.

Note, for example, that he has talked with the other (non-NK) leaders of the "six-party" group, and they're all on the same page. That's big.

Look at who else he calls out by name: Iran and Syria. That's big. Look also at his explicit mention of "non-state powers." That's huge.

Finally, in the context of all that, he separates the NK people from the leadership. That's the biggest thing -- it's a threat to Kim and his regime, and Kim will understand it that way.

I hate it! If we went into Darfur, they'd accuse him of doing what he did in Iraq. The man can't win for anything with democrats/liberals and now even pubbies. Argghhh.

Thank you and I hope you are right. Our future is depending on it. I am referring to the election right now. I hope just me at first thought it was weak and that does not matter because I love the President and think he always does a great job and really cares about America. I guess I was just looking at the speech too harshly. I hope I am the only one in the entire country. lol.

McArthur was fired for being insubordinate to the Commander-In-Chief. Had one of the current brass done this to Bush, you would have demanded his head. You may disagree with Truman's position, but he had not choice but to fire McArthur when he was stupid enough to criticize his superior.

"MacArthur was fired for pursuing this line of thought against Truman. "

Wasn't Patton fired for the same thoughts about the Soviet Union after WWII?

I'm glad somebody else saw that horrible ad and agreed with me about its not-so-subtle message!

Well, blaming is all you're good for. So you must be having fun spreading blame around.

Now, where is the quote in which President Bush PROMISED that NK would not be allowed to get a nuclear weapon? There isn't one. He has not PROMISED that the Korean Peninsula would never have a nuke on it's soil. What he HAS repeatedly urged on the world is that a nuclearized KP would be unacceptable and extremely dangerous.

It is Iran that he has said "will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons". You are confusing the two.

"I still think we might do something about Iran, at least I hold out hope. NK is like a porcupine."

My bet here is Iran will now go along with getting rid of their nuke program for concessions, which the 5+1 will go for.

NK will then sell nukes to Iran for hard currency. And there is not a freakin thing we can do.

President Bush wasn't really comfortable with pronouncing the word "nuccular."

Just a bit of trivia here, in the movie "China Syndrome", the actor Michael Douglas, as the anti-nuke camera man, says "nuccular" in the EXACT same way as President Bush.

No, he/she isn't correct, rhombus, you are. It was Iran he made the flat promise about that they would not be allowed to have one. With NK he has done everything imaginable to convince the world that a nuclearized Korean Peninsula is unacceptable and extremely dangerous, so the world must stand together against it.

"Isn't Fox already the largest outlet of TV news?
"

Not even close. The broadcast networks so far outnumber the cable news vendors that it's not even funny. Check out the number of viewers for the network evening news.

Despite scorn for the MSM, it still reaches far more people than all the cable news put together.

A nuke tossed at Korea would kill fewer people than a conventional war, and would give just cause for a nuke response that might end things immediately.

Oh puhleeeeze! Why do you think that would work?!? /sarc

what's that?...Japan you say?

The reason Bush couldn't promise that NK would never get a nuke, IS BECAUSE NK HAD INDICATED THEY ALREADY HAVE ONE AND WE SEEM TO THINK THEY LIKELY DO. THANKS TO BILL CLINTON. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, you memory-challenged Bush-bashers!

re: ""lost" china"

There's a lot of heat on FR from folks that hate WalMart etal closing down mom-n-pop because China is ostensibly our enemy.

I've always wondered what a pickle those folks would be in if China had been a democratic "ally" and had been developing at the rate of Japan for these 60 years.

We would already be eclipsed by now.

If you think China doesn't care about being laughed at, especially by their asian neighbors, think again.
