President Bush wasn't really comfortable with pronouncing the word "nuccular." Just a bit of trivia here, in the movie "China Syndrome", the actor Michael Douglas, as the anti-nuke camera man, says "nuccular" in the EXACT same way as President Bush.

Personally, I think it is a presidential inside joke...they ALL seemed to do it, even the scumbag traitor Carter, who should know better.
As a former Nuclear Medicine Tech, I grit my teeth every time I hear it. Or at least I did. Now I just pretend it is a big joke, and I feel a lot better...:)
