We want our FreepTV

Steve Malzberg should do the morning show, and Mark should do the evening news.

Have you seen the "I told him so" tour that James Baker is making??

He keeps starting all of his interviews saying that all of the people that were for the Iraq War...NOW know why he and 41 did NOT go all the way to Baghdad in the Gulf War...and he has this self-righteous laugh after he says it.

I have seen him do that 3 times in 2 days....ugh.

I am sitting here trying to remember when any Lib has resigned, ever, for anything.

There was that time when, ah....oh yeah they got reelected and pardons by Clinton.

...how about when......ah nevermind he won re election.

Nope, cant think of anyone in the Dem party that even have the shame, to think about resigning.

Ugh, indeed. My prayer is that Iraq suddenly comes aright, and all of these people will have to eat large helpings of crow.

More Wild Assumptions in the Latest AP/Ipsos Poll?
The latest AP/Ipsos poll shows that George Bush's approval rating is 38% among registered voters, and 39% among likely voters. (Poll results here.) (Pdf file)
http://www.ipsos-na.com/news/client/act_dsp_pdf.cfm?name=mr061005-2toplinerevised.pdf&id=3210

The poll also shows the Democrats enjoying a 16-point lead in the generic congressional ballot among registered voters (54%-38%), and a 10-point lead among likely voters (51%-41%).

Asked if they would rather see the Dems or Repubs control Congress -- regardless of their vote -- registered respondents preferred the Dems by 21-points (55%-34%), with likely voters preferring the Dems by 17 points (53%-36%).

This does not appear to be good news for the Republicans.

However, a closer look at the composition of the poll's respondents reveals that when asked which party they leaned toward, the respondents broke down 54%-38% in favor of the Dems among registered voters, and 51%-41% among likely voters.

In other words, the composition of the poll's respondents -- in both registered and likely voters -- matches exactly the results of the generic congressional ballot.

For historical comparison, in the 37 presidential elections since 1860, only three Democratic Party presidential candidates have won a majority of the vote with a margin of 10% or more: FDR in 1932 and 1936; and LBJ in 1964.

3 out of 37.

Yet the AP/Ipsos poll assumes such a breakdown of the electorate exists today.

That's interesting, non?

Yes, I heard him. His premise is that it would be so very hard. God bless you, Dubya, you aren't afraid of things that are hard to do. We need more of your kind. But did you hear the story of the Queen and President Reagan on the horseback ride. My heavens, I am still laughing.

I just went over to ABC's web site a little earlier tonight. Seems to me that Ross is sort of back tracking on his story some. Here is a new piece of information I had not seen before. This is not about the IM's but about the email (I know the difference!!!). Anyway, apparently the email was addressed to Danielle Savoy. She is a staffer for Reynolds. This is the first I have seen a name of to whom the emails were addressed. Is this new info to you also. I don't think it really matters, but it is new information. I think Ross is getting the impression that he was had by some dem operatives, the question is, if it turns out he was made a fool, will he identify from whom he received the information?

I've been to the Lancaster PA area a lot in my life. My dad had an aunt & uncle who lived there - not Amish, Methodist! lol
Mr.FF and I were just there last over this past Labor Day weekend. You can pick out the Amish houses on the backroads, they're the ones with the dark green shades pulled down on every window. They have made concessions lately tho, every few houses or so there's a little wooden shed that matches the house and is the same size as those old telephone booths... and that's what they are. They can have phones now, even cell phones, just not inside their houses. And they can ride in cars or vans, as long as someone else (someone "English") drives. Believe me, in the Amish world, that is HUGH.

"Nope, cant think of anyone in the Dem party that even have the shame, to think about resigning."

That's why I got so darned mad at Brit Hume yesterday. Right before the Hastert press conference, he came on and said, "There comes a time in every scandal in Washington that the pressure just gets too great, and someone has to take the fall. We may well be at that time now."

Well, that's a big fat lie. When did a democrat scandal ever end that way? NEVER, that's when.

Ali, that must be why Bill Krystal keeps saying that the pollsters he has been speaking with tell him it is not hurting the Rep.

He knows the polls are weighted on the heavy side for the dems.
