Pending Hastert's news conference, Fox is reporting that internal Repub polls indicate that the Foley matter is destroying any chance of the Repubs keeping the House, "and maybe the Senate as well." Breaking as we await the Hastert news congerence. Fox reports that the entire country is riveted by this matter and it has "blown away" all other issues for the upcoming mid-terms.
I have a hard time believing this manufactured scandal is having this effect, but Fox seems to be shooting straight on this. Perhaps the dealy in the Hastert new conference is due to furious fighting over whether he needs to resign as speaker today. With no other candidate standing-by, Fox notes that Congress would be required to re-convene to elect a new speaker, keeping this mess in the lime light right up to election day. This ambush was apparently very well planned.
I missed it. What did Fox do to pi$$ off Klintoon?
That's why I wish N Korea would initiate a nuclear test of some sort ( could blow up in their faces ) . Would really wake people up as to the threat to everybody's security in the world .
Hard to believe people would punish their own congresscritter for what some guy did in another state. Does not compute.
Usually Roves plan is to just sit back, say nothing, and let the MSM look as stupid as they are.
didnt work in 1994
I agree. I mean, heck, people in Randy Cunningham's district did not punish the GOP for the misdeeds of their own congresscritter. They elected another Republican, Brian Bilbray, to take his place. The only places where I could see some impact from this might be deeply regligous areas like Utah, but those places are so heavily Republican that this will not cause any GOP incumbents to lose.
They stay home and are proud of it.
Unfortunately, this is the case.
I hear "who the hell is Dennis Hassert?!"
Could be, but this time I have a hunch that Rove really does have an October surprise. I've seen a few clues that there is a surprise in the works.
I don't think the GOP fully appreciates Rush and what he does for them everyday.
Thank the good Lord for that.
We are making it waaaaay to easy for the DEMS. It seems like every few months they are calling for the resignation of another Republican Speaker of the House. WTH? When was the last time the Pubbies demanded that a DEM Speaker resign over a member's misconduct (Can you say Cynthia McKinney, Ted Kennedy, Barney Franks, etc.?) When will it be our turn to say we are outraged and we demand the resignation of their lead officials?
Ha! Figures.
The suprise is here

Just playing devils advocate here, but the problem with our side is that they don't pursue these facts vigorously enough to make them public knowledge because of political correctness. I was talking to a lady the other day who had never heard of partail birth abortion, much less what it entailed. She was positively shocked when I explained it to her.
Chris Wallace interviewed him and he lost it over bin laden.

I often wonder about these phone polls. I usually get called around elections and they will ask a few questions, then go into the asking for money thing. Same with the mail solicitation. I think they are fundraisers posing as poll takers to throw you off. You probably did the right thing.
They say that it is too late to get Foleys name off the ballot so I just hope the Republicans have enough sense to get the word out that they will have to vote for Foley to cast a vote for the other guy.
Well? people in the flyover states generally have better sense than folks in Harlem, Boston, NYC and Berzerkly.
They just dont smoke the same amount, and kind of dope the libs do. They dont have time for that nonsense..what..with them having jobs and families and lives and such.
It's gonna happen real soon, I imagine.
