They'll Regret It ("We all know this kind of scandal isn't just a Republican problem")
American Spectator/Prowler ^

We're getting into very dangerous territory, and I've warned my colleagues to be careful." That's what a Democrat leadership aide was saying on Wednesday, as word circulated about David Corn's blog posting that revealed that a list of gay Republicans congressional staffers was circulating through emails.

Such a list has been talked about for months, if not years, by more militant homosexual activists, who have threatened to out Republican congressional staffers or even congressmen if they take positions counter to their gay lifestyle.

Now, in the wake of the Rep. Mark Foley scandal, a form of "the list" is again circulating among journalists and any other interested third parties.

"If that list is made public, all of the political gains we've made in the past 96 hours get flushed down the toilet," says the leadership aide.

Just as troubling are concerns among some House Democrat staff that there are potential scandals lurking of a similar vein for them. According to another Democrat source, "I've been warning my people to stay away from this story because you just don't know what will come back to bite you."

Continued:

Of concern: that House Democrat leadership or Rep. Dale Kildee (Mich.), the Democrat member of the page board, who has served on it since 1985, or his staff have received complaints about Democrat colleagues' perceived inappropriate communications or contact with pages or former pages, and have not brought those complaints to the board or House management, such as the House Clerk's office. Kildee has been vocal about the Foley complaints not being brought before the full board prior to the scandal breaking, and the secretive nature of the Republican leadership's attempts to bring closure to the scandal.

"We all know this kind of scandal isn't just a Republican problem," says a Democrat political consultant in Washington. "We don't want to see what is out there about Democratic House members or former members."

But other Democrats say more is to come, that talk among Democrats around town is that researchers at CREW and the House Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee have in recent weeks been in contact, and that there are additional stories involving Republicans and questionable ethics behavior to be leaked closer to election time.

"It's gossip, and there is just a feeling that the DCCC is in on some of this and that there is more to come closer to Election Day. Remember, [DCCC Chairman Rahm] Emanuel has done this kind of stuff before back with the Clintons," says the Democrat consultant

Pete Williams, who was the spokesman for Dick Cheney or the Pentagon during the first Gulf War, was outed many years ago. I remember it fairly well. It's when this practice started. I was a liberal then, and the lists were around back then, but got little play.

We need to fight fire with fire. No more Republicans being nice and doing the Dems' bidding.

1. LOL! The mud will splash on R's and D's alike!

2. Somehow, it will hurt Republicans more because many Republicans dare to have standards, dare to judge, and thus when they fall it's worse.

3. In the long run this is a good thing--it paints the Dems as the party with zero standards and zero ethics.

Surely there is some Freeper who works on the Hill and can get access to the list of Democrats. We could have as much fun with that as we had with the Swifties' information on Kerry. More.

What I find facinating this morning is HOW FAR BEHIND THE STORY the newspapers listed by C-Span.

In fact C-Span is waaaaaay behind the story this morning. They just had a republicans only call in and they were flooded by democrat seminar callers.

FR is so far ahead of this story. Even Hassert knows about C.R.E.W. and the media (like "Roll Call" on C-span) are intentionally oblivious. It seems nobody wants to admit that Dick Morris' acknowledgment, Rush Limibaughs alert or other reports of C.R.E.W. afe falling on unwilling ears.

DO WE HAVE THE LIST?

AJ Strata doesn't think those behind the setupwill last much longer:

My second prediction is Fordham (and Rogers and Aravosis) are in over their heads and will not weather the investigative storm. They will begin to talk about the entire mess in order to avoid the reality of a criminal probe. They have graduated to the big leagues - and it is not as easy as it looks on TV.

More late night thoughts on the coming revelations from Mac Ranger. He agrees Fordham looks to be in trouble.

I've been thinking that this "morals" mess is going to hurt Hillary. Maybe not glaringly, but subconsciously. Americans are so tired of this stuff but who is the Scandal-in-Chief???? Bill himself.

It's all just so exhausting and every time Hillary's face in on tv, my hair hurts. It's like being reminded of a painful burn or something.

Has Hillary come out yet with any righteous indignation over this?

Regardless of any other implications, one thing is for sure...

The RINOs who berate the social conservative base with "God, Gays, Guns" nonsense are not going to shove a homo friendly, gun grabbing New York liberal with a fancy Madison Avenue label down their throats in the primary for '08 and tell them it is their only chance to beat another New York liberal with another fancy Madison Avenue designer label...

Like Larry Flynt, the MSM is only interested in scandal when a Republican is involved.

Everything I have found so far is here:

The Foley Set-Up

And yes, I think this will backfire, big time. Foley is a chickenhawk, and a creep- but the Donks are going to end up smearing themselves, and convincing any half-way sane gay people that they are no friends of theirs.

The left who wants the Boy Scouts banned from all schools because they don't want gay scout leaders is now suddenly pretending outrage at the gay congressman who propositioned teenaged pages.

What's wrong with this picture.

There is hypocricy and then there's the dems whose picture belongs along side the word in the dictionary.

I had respect for Williams when he was still in the military. He was an outstanding spokesman during the Gulf War, and I continue to respect his reporting now that he is out of the military.

The left always pretends to be uninformed about the facts.

Just another lie that continues on every single topic.
