The Westboro Baptist Church planned to protest the funerals of the Amish school children. Shirley Phelps-Roper and Mike have agreed that the church will not protest at the funerals in exchange for an hour of airtime--Oct. 5th at 10am est--on the Mike Gallagher Show.

The good Rev. Phelps is a disbarred lawyer, the conventional wisdom says they're in it for $$$$. Since his congregation is mostly his own family, and most of them are lawyers, they sue for civil rights violations when their permits are denied or when physical confrontations occur at the protests.

They've already sued for several hundred thousand dollars. They have nothing to do with legitimate protest or religion.

I heard that this afternoon and the church lady emphasised "at the funeral". So I immediately thought that they might pull a fast one and still show up perhaps along the roadsides.
