Who says there's never any good news? After more than 30 years and tens of millions dead -- mostly children -- the World Health Organization (WHO) has ended its ban on DDT. DDT is the most effective anti-mosquito, anti-malaria pesticide known. But thanks to the worldwide environmental movement and politically correct bureaucrats in the United States and at the United Nations, the use of this benign chemical has been discouraged in Africa and elsewhere, permitting killer mosquitoes to spread death.

I believe there was a recent analysis of the data Rachel Carson used for her book "Silent Spring" that indicated she fudged and fabricated data to fit her conclusions.

I think it was deliberately sarcastic. Mind-numbed has been around here for awhile and if he had been truly liberal he would have become just as famous as Ash or A+Bert. As it is,... he does the best he can.
JI'm just teasin' ya', mind, dear.

Yes.
It was so over-the-top sarcastic that it really didn't need a sarcasm tag.
OTOH, we've had so many trolls here lately that I had to roll the cursor over the name of the poster to check the date that he joined the FreeRepublic just to be sure. A < sarcasm> tag might have saved me a step.

Nancy, Excellent points. Liberals want the government to take care of everybody and those that don't need care from the government they rob blindly with excess taxes.
By the way, I love your blog. Keep up the good work.

"You should check your facts before you just assert something."
And YOU, nancy, should consider that this is FR, a conservative site, and that people are occasionally sarcastic, before you get too sassyfied over what was obviously a sarcastic comment. In fact, his sarcasm is so obvious that I cannot understand how you missed it. An /s tag would have been overkill.

An /s tag would have been overkill. Or so I thought. To be kind to Nancy, there have been posts through the years that I missed as sarcasm.
However, it did give her the opportunity to show she is up to speed on such things.

BRILLIANT! I shall steal and repeat endlessly. I hope you do. The more we point out to the liberals just how "effective" their good intentions are, the better. You might also add the money we have spent, the progress that has been delayed, the jobs that are lost, and, yes, the people that have died just so they could vicariously feel good about themselves.

Last time I checked, I was. But with so many strange things happenin' these days, alien abductions and the like, time will tell.

Great article. It's nice to see this (in the mainstream?). Do you suppose John Stossel will be able to make these points on ABC?
