However, the highest percentage of pedophiles are also homosexual, so there is a definite correlation that is very hard to deny. I think Foley was going through the homosexual version of mid-life crisis, when X amount of men go off the deep-end and try to somehow regain what they see as their lost youth. Foley fits this bill, both by age and by action.
Ya, maybe, but my sense is that he was well afraid, more than really into underaged boys. But that is just a guess.
What's your beef, I asked a simple question about the kid. Okay, so he knew the kid, you're being very short on specifics, though. My beefis also with a kid who would respond to all these very personal questions rather than tell the guy he'd rather not go there and that he was being too personal. This is the internet, it's pretty easy to just not respond, you know.
The second part may very well be true, but we simply have no way to conclude one way or another. In other words, it may just as well be false, and this type of deviance may've been a more fundamental trait of his. We just don't know.
On Sunday, reports began circulating about e-mails that Foley sent a year ago to a former 16-year-old congressional page from Louisiana. The e-mails were posted on a blog devoted to exposing sexual predators. How the blog acquired the e-mails is unclear, but the boy had passed them to a congressional staffer last year, calling one of Foley's e-mails "sick, sick, sick, sick."

Congressional staff members who asked not to be identified said it was widely known among Hill staffers and some House leaders that Foley had been engaging in inappropriate conduct and language with young aides.
One highly placed staff member said Foley's abrupt resignation may have been demanded by Republican leaders who have been aware for some time about allegations of inappropriate behavior.
The guy is clearly an emotional mess. I wonder if he will self exit. I am serious.
The kid may be gay. He may have wanted the attention. He may have been setting a trap. NONE of that matters a whit.
16 year olds get themselves into all sorts of stupid, dangerous or bad situations. Adults are supposed to, at least, refrain from helping them along.
Another Florida congressman, Jeff Miller, who represents a conservative district in the far western Panhandle, said House leaders demanded Foley's resignation after learning there was apparently more to the allegations.
"I understand there are 35 pages of e-mails," Miller said, citing information from members with direct knowledge of the documents. "I do not feel that our leadership would have acted so quickly had they in any way thought there was a chance of this not being true."

That's my guess as well, but I will simply add that I seriously doubt Mark Foley is a 52 year old virgin, so without knowing who or what he's been having sex with during the past three decades there's no way to say anything for sure.
That crossed my mind.

Your intentions are honorable here; however, my sister who lives for most of the year in Florida, says that almost everyone down there (in Pub circles, and some without also) knew Foley was gay. I believe many of Foley's colleagues both knew or seriously suspected he was homosexual. My guess is some covered for him. Just his having remained single and being the age he is makes it suspicious. Same rumors exist about the blond guy in California, what's his name? The rather good looking middle-aged Pub Congressman, David something. There's lots who think he too is gay.
Well, except I guess it's safe to say he's recently into 16 y.o. boys, at least in fantasy..
Putting aside the vile content and horrid behavior, they've had them for over a year.

LOL! Yup, he's on the highly suspect list also. Highly suspect. And also probably the truth is known by some of his colleagues. We'll see now how many more Pub "gays" get outed in the future. The ball is rolling now.
I want to be very clear about my position here.
I do not care if everyone in the universe covered up that he was gay. I very much care if others knew Foley was messing with minors.
