Ya, maybe, but my sense is that he was well afraid, more than really into underaged boys. But that is just a guess.
That's my guess as well, but I will simply add that I seriously doubt Mark Foley is a 52 year old virgin, so without knowing who or what he's been having sex with during the past three decades there's no way to say anything for sure.
Well, except I guess it's safe to say he's recently into 16 y.o. boys, at least in fantasy..
And my last comment on Foley, because my primary interest is the FL-16 election, not Foley's psychology, is that his IM chat sounds very much like "grooming" - where a sexual predator is setting up his victim. Can I be sure that's what was happening? No. Of course not. But all the elements are certainly there.
And might I add that if Foley just wanted to indulge in 'harmless' banter (relatively speaking) the internet is a very big place and it's hardly difficult to find adult men or even teens to chat with. Hell, if he'd done that he could've stayed anonymous. But instead he took the risk of chatting up a congressional page that he had direct interaction with, and not his own page I might add, which means he must've gone out of his way to become this familiar with said page.
Well, lemme revise that a bit. I'll talk about Foley's psychology some more, for whatever little my opinion's worth, if anyone really desperately wants me too, but I'd just as soon rather not. :)
