A judge has stricken Romanelli's name from the ballot, hence the reason I posted Question 16 instead of the three-way matchup question.

I really thought Swann's popularity as a football hero and TV commentator would generate more support. Plus, he's a great guy.

What's wrong with the people of Pennsylvania? These results should be reversed. The polls are probably slanted a bit dem, but this is not good.

There's an immense number of Reagan Democrat types, now elderly, that LOATHE Bush and the war in Iraq, in Pennsylvania, and have gone back to being Democrats.

Swann's campaign is "phoning it in." Zero fight, almost no effort at all.

Perhaps more disturbing is Santorum's inability to stay above 40%.
This suggests that his biggest hope is to bring down Casey's numbers, and massively outdo Casey's GOTV efforts.
It isn't looking good for my favorite senator.....

"What's wrong with the people of Pennsylvania? These results should be reversed. The polls are probably slanted a bit dem, but this is not good."
Pennsylvania is a BLUE STATE anchored by a VERY BLUE (and politically corrupt) city of Philadelphia -- a city that can 'manufacture' the votes necessary to put any Democrat over the top.
Conversely, Rick Santorum is a VERY RED senator who only won his first election because his opponent 1) failed to secure the political support of Philadephia's black leaders and 2) promoted a pro-choice agenda. This time his opponent has avoided these BIG mistakes!

" Also the economy in quite a bit of the state isn't nearly as good as the rest of the country... " ..... if that is the case, then, the Republican political strategist should get on the ball pronto and get in gear and conduct a ad campaign to show how the Democrat governor is the cause and reason the economy is not doing so well in Pennsylvania.

We are a blue state due to social engineering. The state made pensions/SS/401k's tax free BUT didn't think the whole mess through. Due to this tax policy, we are an aging state with the senior numbers growing each day. Plus, we fund education here with real estate taxes...and guess what??? Those same old fogies that have hung around to collect their tax-free pensions cannot afford to pay the ever-increasing tax bill. That leaves the seniors looking for an easy fix and willing to believe Rendell's lies. Personally, I think seniors are acting selfishly when they vote for a liberal that promises them the most with no plan to fund such boondoggles (like offering tax-free pensions).

Swann's TV commercials are just now getting on the air in PA, (last 5 days). You can expect to see these numbers change. His radio commercials are hard hitting, and pull no punches. The TV stuff is a bit softer. One is on You Tube, featuring a Rendell cardboard cutout, and is hilarious. Rendell is tough though. His organization responds very quickly to opponents' messages.
Right out of the box, Rendell is championing property tax cuts, and Swann is airing commercials asking what happened to the tax cuts Rendell campaigned on in the last election. Rendell is tut-tutting 4 balanced budgets, as if adhering to PA law is worth bragging about. If Swann can respond to this sleight of hand quickly enough, we might have a horse race.
