Climate alarmists have been attempting to erase the inconvenient Medieval Warm Period from the Earth’s climate history for at least a decade. David Deming, an assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma’s College of Geosciences, can testify first hand about this effort. Dr. Deming was welcomed into the close-knit group of global warming believers after he published a paper in 1995 that noted some warming in the 20th century. Deming says he was subsequently contacted by a prominent global warming alarmist and told point blank “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.” When the “Hockey Stick” first appeared in 1998, it did just that.

There is no such thing as stasis in Earth's weather patterns, just as there is no such thing as stasis in its geology or anything else for that matter. There never was, there is not now, and there never will be. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

We are blessed with the ability to adapt, and that's how the human race has survived both heat waves and blizzards, floods and droughts.

Every year I see variations in the seasons. I remember summers hotter than Hell as a Child. Every now and then during winter a storm dumps a lot of snow for me to shovel. Sea level is about where it was 50 years ago. Polar bears still live in the north. As a child we had yellow journalism spreading some lie. So what's new?

I find it interesting that the debate has now shifted from "the climate isn't changing there is no proof" to "the climate always changes and man isn't responsible".

I figure in about 12-18 months we will get "Humans are only causing a small fraction of the change, so there isn't much we can do".

Ultimately the right lets the left get to own this issue and loses big time as they implement wacky schemes to what is could easily be solved through obvious market mechanisms.

Insert head in sand. The consistently brilliant conservative strategy to having started out on the wrong side of an issue.

Look back a few years (if not months) and you will see an awful lot of Freepers claiming that nothing is happening.

My favourite ones are those who like to expain how cold it was last winter. Even Rush was prone to some of that type of sophistry.

As far as the wacko left being all over this issue, of course they are. They have a winner and the right is just letting them take it.

Don't forget, the genesis of a proposition has no bearing on its truth.
