HARDY, Va. - If Republicans decide to replicate the style and substance of President Bush when nominating a potential successor in 2008, they will likely choose another conservative named George.
George Allen, that is, the junior senator from Virginia, who agrees with Bush on most major issues. On their few points of disagreement, such as immigration and campaign finance, Allen sides with the more conservative Republicans who will dominate primary election voting.
I like him very much I consider him a friend, Allen says of Bush in an interview with The Examiner. And I know a lot of people like to criticize him. We even have Republicans distancing themselves from him because his approval ratings are in the 30s.

I looked and looked and couldn't find this. It is part of a series on various Dem & Rep candidates.

I was disappointed in how George preformed on Meet the Press the other week. I don't think he's the right nominee. (I don't know who is).

I believe George Allen is an empty suit. Nice packaging but not presidential.

I don't think so either....IMO someone like Ga Gov. Sonny Perdue would be better.

I'm proud that George Allen is my senator. He's a good man and he would make a great President. The fact that the Rat smear machine is in high gear against him should tell you that the Rats are SCARED TO DEATH of him. He would be an outstanding nominee.

No wonder the Washington Compost and the rest of the presstitutes have become so invested in destroying Allen.

Allen is positively the best we could hope for, basically an ally of Ted and Marcy Dykes and the populist wing of the republican party in Northern Virginia. Anybody else would likely be much worse.

I was an early supporter of Sen. Allen but now he'll be lucky if he holds onto his Senate seat. His national chances are nil unless the RATs put up Kerry or Gore again. Hillary will eat him alive when it comes to the minority vote. Nope, his chances for the presidency are ca-ca -- macaca that is.

It's not like "W" was a great public speaker/performer during the 2000 campaign. Given the way Allen has been scrutinized by the media, I still think he's one to watch. The press loves McCain and he tries to keep them on his side. That's all I need to know about him.

Gracie Allen would be more presidential than George Felix Allen and she's been dead for 50 years! Americans are tired of a George at the helm--only one of them have ever been top-10 material and that was the first George...as in Washington!

I don't think that Allen is going to be President, but it might be nice if he could defeat that anti-Semitist, Webb.
To: tomzz
Allen is positively the best we could hope for As your Senator, yes.

I was disappointed in how George preformed on Meet the Press the other week. I don't think he's the right nominee. (I don't know who is).I didn't see the performance but a liberal friend who did see it said, he prayed to God (yes he said that) that the GOP nominates this "schmuck" because ANY Democrat can beat him. I had to remind him to be careful what he wished for because he said the same thing about bumbling babbling Bush. :-)

I really did like George Allen when I lived in Virginia. He was down to earth and common sense, but his biggest downfall is he has no pizzazz. No excitement = no presidency.
