Chris Wallace: Clinton Chewed Out His Staff After Interview While Still at Fox-TV Studio

Chris Wallace (FOX TV) just stated on the Monday morning news segment of Fox TV (aired in the 7:00 a.m. EST hour) that, not only did Bill Clinton retain his anger at Wallace after the interview was over and the cameras were off (despite Wallace trying to part on friendly terms), Clinton absolutely fumed at his own personal staff, right then and there while still on the Fox TV premises, for getting him into the interview with Wallace where he had earlier lost his head.

Wallace said Clinton's blow up at his staff for this mistake was very visible and very audible and very emotional.

Where's Hillary??? Of course, she views this as some kind of Right Wing conspiracy......again.....and once again...Bubba did it all by himself. This time he brought Hillary to her knees.

The most ironic thing about this whole episode-I watched it three times and can't figure what sent Bill off. The question wasn't all that difficult.

Did he never expect to get this question?

I will say I noted he knew he'd blown it at the end of the interview. He knew he'd over-reacted and it was not very presidential. In fact, he appeared bitter, angry, and defeated. I'm not sure I'd be happy relegated to fund raising for the rest of my life either.

I wonder what Hillary's reaction to the inverview was? Question is: will she be able to spin his meltdown? She managed in the past to get sympathy points from the NOW gang; can she repeat her past success?

It's the body language that is so telling. If you read the transcript and even hear him speaking you don't get the entire flavor of his rage.

Well, I disagree a bit. He was in fact caught, with his pants down.

He got caught in this way at Ron Brown's funeral, too.

He'll try to spin it later and lie his way out, but still, the camera itself does not lie.

The US populace witnessed the breakdown of it's former President over a very, very serious issue.

They are in total damage control this morning. It will only be a few hours before Carville and others are brought out of retirement and given consulting job projects on this one, in order to refloat the sinking ship fast.

Even better would have been a, "Please remember, Mr. President, that we are on camera." It would have stung much worse without the negative backlash against Chris.

It's hard to play the victim when you are having a finger-waggin' temper tantrum towards an interviewer that is asking simple fair questions. Look at what Bush has to deal with, question-wise, from the WH Press Corps...
