Osama bin Laden has died, according to the L'Est republicain

PARIS (AP) - The head of terrorist network al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, has died, according to information from the Saudi police, transmitted by the Directorate-General of External Services (DGSE), and reported on the Lorraine daily newspaper L'Est republicain in its Saturday edition.

"According to a commonly reliable source, the Saudi police believes that Osama Bin Laden has died," said a September 21st confidential note from the DGSE classified as "defense." L'Est republicain will publish it in its Saturday edition. The note, specified the daily newspaper, would be re-printed "un-edited."

According to the note to be published by the L'Est republicain, the Saudi police "would try to obtain more details, in particular the location of the burial site, and then announce the news officially." The DGSE specified in the note that no "jihadist Internet site has for the moment been made aware of the death of Osama bin Laden."

According to the note, "the head of al Qaeda may have fallen victim to a strong case of typhoid fever while in Pakistan, on August 23, 2006," and may have died within a matter of days.

The French news organization transmitted this note to the President of France, to the Defense and Prime Minister and the Ministers of the Interior Department on September 21, according to the regional daily newspaper, which added that a prior note transmitted on September 19th to the leaders of France explained why the Saudi police "sought to confirm the death of Osama bin Laden."

Need to go back and find the thread about a month ago that we were all speculating......It would certainly fit in to our theory. About the same time, the Pakistani government agreed to vacate the area. Could the "funeral picture" we saw from the drone, have been his? Who else would have drawn SO many?

I figured at the time we'd hear about some dna test by late Sept.

Being a geek I did some checking.

The "ZOT" came along after the creation of Admin Mods on 9/3/01 but before 11/27/02.
The thread I found with the Nov 02 date had a lot of explaining of "ZOT",
so one can assume it was still fairly new.
The Admin Mod profile page says they invented it, but gives no time frame.

The first mention of "Viking Kittens" I could find was from 4/3/03. In that thread it appears they'd been around for a short time.
I found a long "Zot" thread on 2/4/03 which did not have VK involvement.
I conclude VK's started between Feb 03 and April 03.

Not being a Cat person, I've not gotten into the VK's. I prefer a good old fashioned ZOT.

Yes... and the should be the Republicans answer to the Liberals spin and manipulation of OSBL death.
You know that they ( DEMS/MSDBM ) is going to turn this around and use it to their favor and bash President Bush for not going after OSBL and how they are going to be stronger on the WOT.
But, we need to get the word out, get the word out to RUSH, The great one ( Mark Levin ) ... and hey TONY SNOW ? if your still reading post here on FR ... tell the Libs/DEMS that it was the mere fact that President Bush had OSBL on the run and in hiding that it was the cause of OSBLs death because he could not have gotten the proper medical attention.
