I'm a pan-millenialist...It'll all pan-out in the end.
"60 percent of Americans earning under $20,000 per year agree; 26 percent disagree"
Hasn't this more or less always been the way of thinking for poor people?
"51 percent of Americans living in the South agree; 35 percent disagree"
Gee what a shock there, huh?

Right has become wrong, wrong has become right. That is the flag.
Christians will know it. Not the exact time Jesus returns, no, but, Christians feel it, they know. And at risk of sounding stupid, they just won't say it.
I imagine Noah felt pretty stupid in front of his peers, building an ark, in the desert. I bet there were plenty that made fun of him, but was he right? That is the question. Who is right? Who will win?
Matthew 24 addresses that. Jesus states that we can know when it's approaching but not specifially when it's going to happen.

In particular verses 32-36.
32"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
The world has never been more prosperous or peaceful than it is right now.
I think Catholics tend to be amillennial, IIRC.
They would believe that the world ends with a big bang after things get real bad.
I imagine the prophecies about the various Popes might have something to do with Catholic response. I remember when the cardinals were meeting after JPII died that there were a number of articles about "someone's" prophecy that there were only 2 or 3 more Popes left. I wish I could remember more about it.
This Catholic believes as well.
There's also an egotistical desire to believe there is something absolutely unique about the time one lives in, I think.
So if it is the 'last days' what does that mean? What is next? So many questions not addressed by this poll.
true , but He also said there would be signs..
Then again, many early Christians believed so too, Paul included. If you think about history and the last book, we were in the "last days" since the ascention.
Every generation asks the same question. I guess eventually they will be correct.

We are all in our last days...give or take 85 years or so - guaranteed - our last day will come sooner than we'd like.
Seeing that there is a huge age difference, income may be correlating to age rather than IQ.
Not necessarily. Most well-educated and high IQ people tend to be either unemployed "artists" or very comfortable but not necessarily wealthy research academics.

and 77% of those making 100,000.00 or more disagree. I guess your perspective depends on how comfortable you are with living.
The 2 largest percentage variances are income and race, and so you can predict with a high degree of probability that a low income uneducated Black individual will agree with the statement while a high income educted Asian will disagree.
