Nearly two of every three Colorado voters think illegal immigrants should be allowed to become U.S. citizens if they pay taxes, learn English and meet other requirements, according to a new Rocky Mountain News/CBS 4 poll.
Only 15 percent of those polled favor mass deportations.
"People want to be tough but fair," said pollster Lori Weigel. "It's like many issues. You tend to hear from extremes on both ends. Clearly, this data indicate that there's a silent majority that is supportive of a more middle-ground approach."

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Remove them the same way they got here: one at a time.
Also, make it intolerable to be here without proper legal status. They will self-deport. Mexico and Canada BOTH have welfare systems, free schools and free medical care.
The poll should also ask what to do with illegal immigrants if they don't pay taxes, learn English and meet other requirements.
IOW, you DON'T have any illegals living with you. You prefer to assuage your conscience with the money of other people.
It ain't hyperbole -- it is fact.
I agree. Lawmakers are too stooopid to thin of more than one issue at a time.
I take it that you leave your doors unlocked, your windows open, and a note on your front yard telling everyone about this?
All of a sudden an MSM poll is credible now.
I'll settle for just a fence on the southern border (which a majority of Americans do support) and increased border patrol presence on both borders.
We have done it before. Back when men were real men.
Where is the lie asking about mass deportations and how do you make mass deportation, "warm and fuzzy"
I was encouraged b hastert's and other House members comments. But the entire Senate should be replaced, IMO.
Your little quote after your name "Dane" is rather ironic when considered along side your posting and obvious position. Why not just go north to Canada where they welcome almost anyone and Sharia law by the way (hmmmm maybe related to a plot to chop off Canadian politicians heads and blow up their govt buildings)?
A little national guard presence on the border has gone a long way. Even though they are not patrolling directly, just seeing military vehicles and men in army clothing has to have an impact on illegals, especially since the military south of the border is not so gentle with those it interacts with. So while we are waiting for a wall in remote areas, I say increasing the patrols will go a long way toward slowing the flow.
"Where is the lie asking about mass deportations and how do you make mass deportation, "warm and fuzzy""
Hint: Mass deportation is the "warm and fuzzy" one.
Easy you give each of them a blankey for the trip and read them stories as they camp out under the sky on their foot march home. See, warm and fuzzy:-)
I have another thread that is eagerly waiting for responses.
And the MSM (and people like yourself) have convinced people that we can't mass deport. Even though we have done it before.
People who don't knoe history are doomed to miss its lessons.
Uh people remember hitler's mass deportations quite well.
Talk about a straw man argument.
A. Make it tougher to sneak in. That alone handles most of the problem.
B. Remove the incentives. Punish employers of illegals. No freebies like health care education and welfare. Another big chunck of the problem goes away.
C. Let attrition take care of the rest. Once the numbers are managable and the huge backlog of both legal and illegals is digested, we can discuss rationally and calmly just how many and what type of immigration WE want as a nation.
"mass deportation" is the stern one.
Here's the poll question, they're given two choices:
Do you favor citizenship if they learn English, pay taxes, love dogs, etc. etc.
or
Mass deporations.
Same push polling Bush's pollster Matthew Dowd did and was touting.
Your strawmen again. Do you put them together in the night and then line them up by your computer?
The USA legally deported millions of illegals in the last.
You have GOT to get a new card to play. Your logical fallacies won't play anymore. I will make sure of that.
