Nearly two of every three Colorado voters think illegal immigrants should be allowed to become U.S. citizens if they pay taxes, learn English and meet other requirements, according to a new Rocky Mountain News/CBS 4 poll.
Only 15 percent of those polled favor mass deportations.
"People want to be tough but fair," said pollster Lori Weigel. "It's like many issues. You tend to hear from extremes on both ends. Clearly, this data indicate that there's a silent majority that is supportive of a more middle-ground approach."

Seems like most voters would like to take the Pence approach and not the tancredo approach,
After we completely seal the border, we can THEN talk about guest workers and back taxes. First things first.
Gasp!
Well if the RMN says that it is a big concern you know it must be. And if they say 15% want mass deportations then that number is really closer to 60%
It is Canada that has big enclaves of radical islamofascists.
Immigration would be my top issue, but neither party has crafted a clear solution, so keeping the DIMS out of power is my top issue.
Seal the Northern border, the Mexicans provide much tastier food.
The RMN used to be a conservative rag, didn't it?
What push poll, asking if one supports mass deportations is a straighforward question.
Mass deportation isn't feasible. Border security isn't really feasible.
We can cut down on illegal immigration by a multi-billion dollar fence, but we can't stop it entirely. We'd have to fence the northern border, too, since planes from Mexico do fly to Canada.
And our coastlines, forget it. Ya think Californians will tolerate fenced beaches?
Absolutely. But I think the percentage sneaking across the Canuckistan border versus the souther border is on the order of 5%. Mainly becuase unlike the mezcan gov't, the canadians actually HELP patrol the border, not encourage crossings.
Someone breaks into your house, steals your food, steals your money, takes your couch, and your response is "well, they have to sleep somewhere and they have to eat and buy stuff."
Oh, wait. That isn't at YOUR house at all.
Tell us all, Dane. How many illegals do you have at your house? How many do you lt sleep in your living room? How many have unfettered access to your pantry? How much do you pay for their clothing and doctoring?
How many, Dane? How many?

Bull!
The rest favor lawbreakers entering our country. This is pathetic.
It's funny polling. Democrats using Bush's pollster's bogus questioning giving two choices - one nice and fuzzy, one stern.
Literally, it's the same questions the Bush pollster used.
How much hyperbole can you post.
"Mass deportations vs. Citizenship.
Can you say STRAWMAN argument?"
I joke about polls being designed to achieve an outcome, but this one is so extreme, I wouldn't even joke about it - as it is not credible. Except they actually did it.
Let's hope some Republicans are smart enough to read past the first sentence (or at least have someone read it to them). They haven't been the brightest candle on this issue.
