Exit poll: Alliance on the path to victory
Exit polls released by Swedish TV companies predict that the centre-right Alliance is on its way to power, ending Göran Persson's 12-year period as prime minister
SVT's poll gave the Alliance the bigger lead, with 49.7 percent against 45.6 percent for the Social Democrats' and allies.
TV4's poll showed the Social Democrats and allies slightly closer behind the Alliance, with figures at 48.6 against 46.7 percent.
"This sounds fantastic, and it's a result of a strong campaign which we are proud of. The way things look, it could well be that the Moderates will have the best election result since 1928 which the Social Democrats will have their worse since 1928," Moderate Party secretary Sven-Otto Littorin told The Local.
"But let's be cool about things, it's too early to start celebrating just yet."
The SVT poll showed that the Moderates were the big winners, with their share increasing from 15.3 at the last election to 26.5 percent. The Centre Party got 8.2 percent, the Liberals went down significantly to 7.3 percent and the Christian Democrats were on 7.5 procent, down from the last election.
The Social Democrats' figures were down sharply to 34.3 percent, the Left Party was down and the Green Party saw its figures increase from 4.6 to 5.5 percent.
Whodathunkit...?!!! Sweden...?! WOW!
Is from the George Bush influence?
Canada goes conservative (just barely) and now Sweden.
Could this be the start of a trend? (can always hope).
Still a good move.
Jane Fonda's 'Midas Touch' (heh heh)...
Considering some cities have been taken over by dangerous muslim groups and the 12 yr regime allowed it to happen...and have done nothing about it. I'd get rid of 'em too.
The anti Iraq War leadership in Germany lost (Schroeder), lost again in Canada (Martin), and has now lost in Sweden. Chirac in France is losing, too.
Pro-Iraq-War leaders won re-election in the UK (Blair), Australia (Howard), Japan (Koizumi's party), Poland, and the U.S. (Bush).
Tomorrow the world news media will ignore all of the above and declare the Iraq War to be unpopular.
You're right about our MSM. They will ignore this. But, you know, I am running into more and more people who just don't believe them anymore. Many are tuning out.
Keep in mind that "right" and "conservative" don't mean quite the same thing in Europe that they mean here. I don't know anything about the Swedish Alliance, but I suspect that an objective comparison to American political points of view would put them solidly in the Democratic Party range, somewhere in the center leaning toward the left. Still, it's a step in the right direction.
If the Dims don't win in November they will go into convulsions! :^)
Bad News: Recent polls reveal a slight, slight, Left-Green advantage.
Whatever the result of the election, it will be a success for Moderaterna, because they've gained much more votes than the last election (four years ago).
"Economic justice" often becomes shared poverty, and leads to despair. When the Government hinders the ability to work your way out of poverty, most people just stop working.
Some people living under Socialism just kill themselves. It is no coincidence that Nations who have embraced Socialism all have much higher suicide rates. In fact:
"For all the talk of gun violence here in the United States, your average Canadian is more than twice as likely to take his own life as an American cousin is to be murdered by an act of gun violence. Take THAT Michael Moore."
Just as in California, they would rather have had Aztlan man Bustamante win thru the work of spoiler and lifetime politician Tom McClintock ("Me get big Indian wampum"), rather than be pragmatic with the choice of Schwarzenegger.

It must be fixed, then.
My prediction is that McClintock will one day be governor, though... After Schwarzenegger and the Dems nuke the CA credit rating.
RE:MSM/"I'm running into more and more people who just don't believe them anymore."Agree.Their bias is becoming more and more evident.Desperation?
Good article.Thanx for the link.
