COMMENTS by Pope Benedict XVI implicitly linking Islam to violence have caused Muslims "genuine pain", a British Muslim leader said in Sydney today.
The head of the Roman Catholic church provoked fury across the Islamic world when he quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor's criticism of the Prophet Mohammed for bringing

Now where on earth would the Pope have got the idea moozies embrace violence?

Islam = Religion of peace. If you say otherwise, we'll kill you
New tag line.
I did search. I ALWAYS search.
For some reason the headline on the article came out as the same as a previous post.
The articles are different.
Maybe it's time to go to bed...
They sure know how to play victim, don't they? "Oooooh! World Press - look at me! I'm a Muslim suffering at the hands of westerners."
I have had problems with the search feature too.
Thank you.
I've no idea how that happened.
Hey! I'm offended by every facet of radical islam. How's about some sensitivity to me, muzz???
People are saying call for a Crusade and stuff like that. But the Pope has no need to that. All he has to do is stand his ground, and I assume that he has the authority, spiritual maturity and guts to do so.
This could, it has the potential to be, a defining moment.
Prayers for Benedict.
Pope's Comments Hurt Muslims?
Interesting. So while Muslim bullets, bombs, rapes, tortures, beheadings, hijackings and the like are hurting Christians, mere words are hurting Muslims?
Gee, I am just all torn up inside for you poor Muslims.
So FR search more like a friend that passes out drunk in your living room. :-)
This is just too much.
Two RC churches have been attacked according to F&F.
they're interviewing Jessie Jackson on Fox N Friends right now. He says the Pope should apologize. What an idiot.
The Holy Father apologize???
Only when Jackson apologizes...and he has much to apologize for!!!
Yeah... Jesse doesn't want to place any blame on the muslims. I think he's afraid of being targeted by the radicals.
I wish the Pope had quoted Churchill instead.
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."
The River War, p. 248-50, (1899)
All that because no one in West or East actually reads the pope's speech. The largest turkish newspaper Hürriyet interviewed the boss of the Turkish state religion office, Bardakoglu, who had condemned the pope's speech. Bardakoglu admitted not having read the speech and announced to have the whole speech translated. Maybe that translation will bring some of those pesky puppet burners off my screen. But I doubt it.
