Many races won't be close, but will set up important November contests that include Senate seats in Arizona and Minnesota, and the race for governor in Maryland, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Wisconsin. Other states holding primaries are Delaware, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont, while the District of Columbia will select mayoral candidates.

Thnaks for the thread!
The NYS Dem primary races should be interesting, not so much the winners, but for the turnout and margins. IMHO :)

Whatever happens the DBM will portray the outcome as a "troubling trend" for the GOP heading into the midterms.

I predict Cardin over Mfume in Maryland (not too close), and Chafee over Laffey in Rhode Island (pretty close).

I'm hoping Randy Graf can hold off the NRCC-funded RINO.

I'm just glad that the entire republican organizational base can now come home from Rhode Island. I'm peeved that they have neglected so much just to save stinkin' Lincoln Chafee.

I'm hopeful for Laffey in RI and Graf in AZ.
This massive intervention by the national party in local elections is a bad thing. Especially since they seem determined to intervene in local primaries only to elect the most liberal candidate they can find.
Disturbing.

Election then all those coke parties.

Maryland already botched their primaries by 8 this morning. Montomgery and Baltimore counties (yes - both fairly rabid Dem) didn't open on time, turned people away and Montco forgot to send out the voter cards for the machines.

Republicans don't stand a chance in races in DC, so it will be between two (D) candidates in that city. Fenty will probably win over Cropp (looks like the endorsement of the current mayor won't help her).

If anyone on here has Facebook, look at Lincoln Chafee's profile on there. You'll see every comment says something like "I'm a Democrat, but you're the only Republican I'd vote for." On that note, don't donate to the NRSC.

I want to see Linc crying at the end of the day today.
