I just received an email from a good friend of mine whose nephew is serving in Afghanistan. His Humvee was hit by an RPG today. He survived, but has shrapnel in his back, hip, and shoulder. He is being sent to Kuwait today for surgery. He was well enough to call his wife (who just gave birth to their first baby about a month ago) to warn her that military officials would be coming to their home to notify her. That's good news. I'm asking for prayers for a successful surgery, and for the safety of the other soldiers that were in the Humvee with him. We have no word on the condition of the others.
Interesting, Doctor. I didn't know that. I sustained a pretty bad playground injury when I was a kid and I made the police who were calling my mom from the hospital let me talk to her first because I knew she would become hysterical and assume I had died. There was no manual for my mom, but I sure could have used one.
May this soldier recover quickly after a successful surgery. Amen!
Please notify me via FReepmail if you would like to be added to or taken off the Prayer Ping List.

Prayers on the way!
One Ave sent.
Done. I know a young man from our area who is serving in Afghan, so this story is sad and makes my heart ache given this day and what it symbolizes.
Prayers said for your nephew. God bless you and your family.
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen
Prayers for the soldier and his full and speedy recovery.
Prayers for complete recovery

The Lord be with him.
Hello, everyone. Thank you for your prayers for our injured serviceman. I received an update from his aunt today:
"He is still in a hospital in Kuwait, and doing ok. He is in a lot of pain and has been on pain meds, which has made him somewhat depressed, so the dr was going to try to wean him off the meds and hopefully this will lift his spirits. He is having some numbness in his leg, and his hearing is still muffled, and he will see another dr next week. We still dont know if will be able to come home yet or not we dont know how long it takes to determine if he should get a medical discharge. He has been in the hospital now for about 14 days..."
