I didn't know if there was a west coast version of this thread. It didn't make sense to post on a show that was almost over on the East Coast.

From what I understood in the "Commission Report" (and the show tonight) it wasn't Tenet, but Unbright and the White House that was doing the "vetoing". Tenet seemed upset because HIS operations weren't being approved either--and when they were, he was forced to amend them to the point that they hadn't a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding!!

Who is this guy who was caught in Port Angeles? He had a trunk full of explosives and his information led to a warehouse full of explosives.

I noticed those cuts too, and the uncut version was far more effective and suspenseful before the edit. They had already portrayed Berger as a weakling, so why make him nine tenth's of a weakling? They should have left the scene intact.

I agree that even with the cuts which were numerous and the spin after the movie that it makes Clinton and his administration look very bad and the fact that we have a very dangerous enemy in the terrorists.

They are showing the 1999-2000 New Years celebration... my boss from AmEx was there that night. How unaware we all were!

You and I, being reasonable people, would get the authority to look into that computer. However, prior to 9/11, the FBI would not grant their field agents the permission to get a search warrant to search Massoui's computer. This, despite information that terrorists were training to fly planes, but not land and take off. This despite past information of the Bojinka plot in the Philippines.

You said -- "ABC would never have done anything to smear clinton and his goons. this was all a rating game scam and set up months ago."
Ah...., so this "truth-telling" by ABC was just a "ratings scam".
WELL..., if that's the case, we could use some more of those kinds of "ratings scams." Bring them on!!

Many cuts but it still makes Clinton look very bad and that the terrorists are a very dangerous threat to us.

Just finished watching the first installment. In a word, Awesome. There is nothing in this movie that we have not heard piecemeal for the last five years. Seeing it all at once is very powerful, disturbing and infuriating. People in the field were on the ball. Clinton's people at the top were busy triangulating. Gee, what a surprise. Listen to this: Just after on the nightly news dick clark was interviewed and the weasels admitted that the clinton administration did not do anything after the "Cole's" attack. Then he "seriously" added that the Bush administration did NOT do anything either about the "Cole" attack in Aden!!!
Unbelievable how these crooks are trying to brain wash the American people and pin everything they can on President Bush (in 2002)???

You said -- "My disappointment while watching this was that I don't think the average viewer is going to be following along with the storyline too easily. Most of us here recognize the names, have followed every nook and cranny of this story, have studied it to no end, but what about "average Joe" out there?"
You're right about that. I already saw that happen tonight, when watching it with some friends. Some lost interest right off the bat, because they were getting lost in the details.
However, I could follow it quite well and knew the names and what parts they played. So it was good for me.

The stuff they cut is disturbing though. I guess the parts about the Cole and the Kobar towers and all that is some of the "lying" that Clinton didn't want going on, so that was cut. Did those things not happen since they were cut from the movie???
Tomorrow I wonder if it will be the full three hours since it's going to be the bash Bush half.
I also wonder how they figure this is balanced with the half showing Clinton's eight years gets about the same amount of time as Bush's seven. That's hardly balanced. Most of what happened leading up to 9-11 took place during Clinton's two terms as Presdident, not Bush's first seven months. That's pretty lop sided right there. Tomorrow will surely be an indictment of all things Bush and no one has said boo about editing that, and I doubt ABC has cut ANYTHING that skewers Bush.

"Then he "seriously" added that the Bush administration did NOT do anything either about the "Cole" attack in Aden!!!Right. Thats like saying that the Bush administration did nothing after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Sadly, about a third of the population will be saying "YEAH, RIGHT ON!!

Too bad they didn't have a Marine sniper when they were looking at Bin Laden in the compound. Not that Clinton would have given permission or anything.
