Under growing pressure from Democrats and aides to former President Bill Clinton, ABC is re-evaluating and in some cases re-editing crucial scenes in its new mini-series The Path to 9/11 to soften its portrait of the Clinton administrations pursuit of Osama bin Laden, according to people involved in the project. Among the changes, ABC is altering one scene in which an actor playing Samuel R. Berger, the former national security adviser, abruptly hangs up on a C.I.A. officer during a critical moment in a military operation, according to Thomas H. Kean, a consultant on the ABC project and co-chairman of the federal Sept. 11 commission. Mr. Berger has said that the scene is a fiction, and Mr. Kean, in an interview, said that he believed Mr. Berger was correct and that ABC was making appropriate changes.

Or maybe Democrats: Can't take the truth.
Got them on the run. Now hit hard. Keep those basta@ds in the cess pool they created.
Of course, the NYT prefers to believe Sandy Burglar, a man who was filmed stuffing secret documents related to exactly this issue down his pants.
And of course ABC was intimidated even though Sandy Berger is a convicted fellon who stole classified documents from the National Archives. Yep, we can count on Berger's memory and integrity. /vomit
That is exactly what they should do. They should demand that Disney edit anything to do with the Bush Admin. to their liking.
Get the ball rolling. You know the MSM would not be able to hold their tounge if W demanded an edit taht was kind to him.
You have to parse this all out.
The Clintons aren't saying that they weren't at fault. They are saying that things like Sandy Berger slamming the phone down are inaccurate and want it edited out. Of course ABC will have to take out the entire call, which is what protects the Clintons.
This is the way they work. Look at what happened with Coulters book.. The RATS didn't go nuts because Ann called them Godless, they went nuts because she called the Jersey Girls attention hounds.
They are discrediting the writer, not the content.
Seriously, I actually rarely watch prime time programming. If there is something worth watching, I TiVO it for viewing when it is convenient for me. Forgive my sarcasm without properly tagging it.
I had planned on watching this. because of all the publicity the Dems gave it by crying. Now I think i will pass, I am not interested in a program censored by the democrat party.
It worked when the Clinton Cult attacked Ken Starr, so why wouldn't it work now?
Agreed! One thing that leads me to believe that ABC may not do wholesale revisions on the film is the sagging popularity of Hillary in Democrat circles. There may be those at ABC who will see this as a chance to kill her Presidential aspirations, without taking the entire Democratic Party down with her. In any event the Democrats who are demanding the changes (and this is a story that has already hit the MSM newscasts) have already focused far more negative public attention on Clinton's failings than by simply allowing the movie's (reported) "a plague on both your (Democrat and Republican) Houses" tone would have done.
anybody got a list of their adveretisers we can start hitting?
Disgusting.
Dan Rather's disgraceful behavior is going to come to mind too. It is going to backfire on them. There is no honor among thieves.
Not only that, but, in his "I made an honest mistake" public apology, he said specifically, that everything he had done had been to simply help the 9-11 commission.
Help them whitewash the whole matter of pre-911.
That's just my opinion.
I suspect that only things that can't be absolutely proven will be removed. That leaves an awfull lot that can be proven. Let's not forget that there were lots of people within the administration who were unhappy. Guys like Mansoor Ijaz and Louis Freeh even Richard Clarke has said some not so kind things about the Clinton administration.
I've never watched any of the series on any of the premium channels. When I was still a working soul, I was sitting in the lunchroom at work, with my back toward the television, reading a book and eating my supper. The guys I worked with (I'm an older female) were watching Sex in the City. I couldn't believe they actually paid people to write crap like that. I've never seen Law and Order, ER, 24, CSI or any of the other series shown on TV. Call me boring, but I'm into history and focus on programs that pertain to that.
