Conspiracy theories flourish in politics, and most of them have no more basis than spring training hopes for the Chicago Cubs.
For much of the past five years, dark suspicions have been voiced about the Bush White House undermining its critics, and Karl Rove has been fingered as the chief culprit in this supposed plot to suppress the opposition.

"Fisk"?
Typical Broder equivication.
Karl Rove isn't the omly one.
Scooter Libby's name should be in the title instead of it being said, "He didn't behave". And how about President Bush and Vice President Cheney too?
Liberals make me nauseous! Its too early in the morning for me to listen to this.
I need some tea...;-)
Seems like they owe ALL of us an apology, but I'm not counting on it.
Yep Fisk. It's derived from Robert Fisk... and refers to a point-by-point debunking of the kind of lies and/or idiocies written by those of the Robert Fisk persuasion (moonbattus trans-national socialismus). Generally speaking, its done by point-by-point refutation of the author's facts, arguments and conclusions.
Yeah we can imagine that will be coming real soon, as imagine is the only reality we will see in the way of an apology from the press.
I wonder if David Broder is going to personally bring up to Chris Matthews.
Holding your breath waiting for an apology from the NYT could be fatal.
Matthews did not exactly cover himself with glory on this issue.
Broder's semi-annual column which he will point to as proof of his objectivity. He can now safely return to being a left-wing hack.
No Shiite!
And Fitzgerald owes the American taxpayers THREE YEARS BACK PAY! And an explanation why he spent the last three years "investigating" what he knew all along!

Great commentary on the text. I hope Broder sees it.
...yeah,like waiting for the duck to load up your gun, it ain't gonna happen, we're talking liberals here
Doogle
Thanks, RKV!
Boy, FR is better than Harvard! "Enter Here and Grow In Wisdom!"
Mr. Broder sure is good with the "yeah, buts." An apology isn't an apology if it contains qualifications.
Oh, so it's just a bit of naughty behavior, is it. Nothing really bad was done here!!! And how dare he lump Libby in with the other two, Libby has not been convicted of anything. I'm certainly not going to rely on an indictment drafted by a clearly compromised prosecuter.
Yes, and everyone knows that running a stop sign in the middle of nowhere is fully as evil as mass murdering children in a day school.
The message to Broder...they didn't fool us and neither do you.

Matthews entire job for the last 3 years has been to blame every injustice on the planet to a conspiracy that originated in the Vice President's office and orchestrated by Presidential advisor Karl Rove. Last week all the major Sunday morning talk shows did their bits on Katrina... not Matthews though. He was trying to spin it by bringing up that no one has debunked the claim that the White House called up to six reporters about Plame. Never has been any evidence of this of course, only a pathetic reporter awakening from a wet dream and placing it in print. |
