The White House is asking networks to break into soaps for the president later today. Stay tuned.

Congress is on Budget and won't be doing anything else anyway.
I could not agree more. Everyone needs to tune in to CNN and MSNBC. They are giving it their best spin but do not know what just hit 'em.
Best dancing since Astaire.
and that is a sad thing.
...just a couple of wild boars to finish off the scrapes.
It was, all of it, from start to finish, positively brilliant. Not only does it back the dems into a corner, it sure puts snarky critical pubbies in an uncomfortable position. I am so happy I stayed home to watch this speech.
Brilliant Post, MoGirl. Glad you're here.
I say...... pluck the back hair fomr Khalid Shaikh one by one. Do not treat these people with kindness... they are terrible men who killed over 3,000 of our innocent people.
I hate to report this...but some guy that is on Fox just characterized this as "Bush has passed the buck"...when the buck is supposed to stop with him
He has passed the buck to Congress...
ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Since you're obviously stone cold deaf, might I suggest using closed captioning?
You clearly missed the entire speech, and don't even realize it.....
Wishful thinking?
The demand that Congress act would be a futile gesture. It might be great rhetoric and might play for the fall elections but it won't make any difference for the war. The MSM will continue to play their game.
shoulda been shown in primetime..
They wouldn't even take off the SOAPS fGS....do you think they are gonna take off shows on PRIME TIME???
lol
BTTT!
Just dry fire at possible targets.
Say, I wonder what perky Katie will have to say about this speech this evening?
Martha McCallom, Catherine Herridge and Bret Baer on Fox are reporting much of what has been said here.
They're speaking of the President's passion, that he has waited a long time to say this, is requesting congressional action ...... laying out all the reasons. They say the President gave a forceful speech answering criticism directed at his administration for a long time.
At least this news outlet is getting it right. Usually it's irritating to have the talking heads tell me what has just been said, but they put it together well for those that didn't 'get it' from the speech.
Did I miss something? Did the US become a dictatorship or is it still necessary to convince voters and get them to vote the way you want them to?
HELLOOOOOOOOO. Monday was Labor Day. The President just used the bully pulpit to frame the debate over what we do with these detainees as a war issue, not a criminal issue. He made it much more difficult for the Democrats to stake out a position that won't get them in trouble with somebody. He gave Republicans some fine talking points. He did exactly what the party leader is supposed to do - wrapped up with a nice big ribbon.
True, he could have done all the legislative and executive work without the speech. But politics is still required to win and hold this country.
Nothing wrong with political rhetoric. About d@mn time, if you ask me.
Shalom.
Did any of you tape his speech? If so, can you burn me a copy? I pay well. :OD
