McCain has remnants from being a POW in his head. It dictates all his moves. But he's only thinking about his experience....and he survived. But he only survived because "WE WON!!" He forgot HOW you win a war.
That is a spin of what the president essentially said which was "quit moving the goal posts you idiots."

He also told the Dems to come up with language for Rules Of Engagement if they're going to flap their gums complaining about him.
He's calling on them to protect the military from later prosecution or show their hands now as military haters!
Wrong, guy, it's about informing the public of the IMPORTANCE of what is going on in this war. It is about putting the LIE to the left and their mealy mouthed whining about how we "infringe" on the rights of the savages. It is about putting the LIE to the loony lefts claim that we can fight the war on terror using normal law enforcement procedures and trying the filth in civil courts. It is about throwing down the gauntlet to a Congress that is far more interested in playing all sides against the middle and tossing the security of the nation in the sewer in the interest of getting re elected. It's ALL about the war.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Intelligence value that comes from interrogation notwithstanding, there's immense PR value in bringing terrorists to justice. That has a positive influence in events all its own, and in an arena that we've not been particularly good at.
We need to publicly bring terrorists to justice. Not in a glitzy media circus, but in a solemn tribunal. I'm glad to see that we're finally putting these guys down Nuremburg style.

Republican Congress critters had better move quickly on this legislation and not say they're putting it off until after the election.
It's about darned time that Republicans step up to the plate.
He didn't ... He said that he has never ordered or condone torture ... he also said he wanted a list from congress what they thought was acceptable under the war act
