Ugh.

Hold your nose, vote Chafee. Laffey's recent comments show little reason to back him, when combined with the likely loss of the seat.

I hate what the NRSC has done to Laffey, too. But it seems safe to say with less than two months remaining that Chafee is the only hope of holding the seat. Laffey ain't gonna bring out the hardcore grassroots like the Governor.

Sorry, in every other case, I would agree with you. Chafee refused to vote for GWB's reelection. He deserves no loyalty from any Rep. The Dems will win the seat, but that is better than supporting a candidate who disdains his own party.

No matter how you vote in RI, the result will always be a stinker.

More evidence that the recent irrational exuberance on the part of Dems and the MSM has been way overblown. If there is such a thing as a political bubble, like an economic one, this certainly is it. The Democrat bubble soon to go bust!

I'm not a Rhode Islander, so I can't vote. But personally, I wouldn't vote for Chaffee if he were running against Lenin. The sooner he's out of there, the sooner Rhode Island Republicans can try to rebuild the party.

"Chafee gets better marks from Democrats than Republicans. Twenty-one percent (21%) of Democrats have a “very favorable” opinion of Chafee compared to only 14% of the GOP faithful." That says it all!

It's getting a little tiring seeing FReepers say, "This guy doesn't really support the Republican cause and works against conservatives, but we gotta vote for him or the Rat will win."

Are we better off as a minority party that works toward goals or a majority party that has no soul and is paralyzed by the likes of Chaffee?

Ya'all need more illegal aliens up there.

Apparently, being a good Republican Senator in Rhode Island is one of those jobs American's just will not do.

The South needs to finish electing all Republicans to the Senate, and let the North East crumble on it's own.

The GOP should be concentrating on ousting Landrei, Lincoln, Nelson, Graham (oh, he is a Republican?, I stand corrected I guess), and the few RATS left in the South.

I didn't see anything in the article that he said. Could you give us an idea what it was?

You want people to vote for a Democrat?

Who cares if Laffey loses the General.

I see no reason the GOP should provide workers and funds to save a Liberal seat for a guy that would flip to the Dems if the Senate were divided in a heartbeat.

Better those funds go to races we can win AND achieve some conservative gain.

Sorry, but no. Voting for the Liberal DEMOCRAT, which is Chafee, doesn't make sense at all. I prefer the RNC do the RIGHT thing and concentrate on Talent, santorum, Burns, Steele, Bouchard, Irey etc...

Hold your nose, vote Hillary. If Chafee's voting record (12% conservative rating last year) is acceptable, then you'll be fine with the Hilderbeast.

Chaffee is so bad he voted MORE liberal a dozen or so RAT Senators.
