The Dem turnout for their primary is significantly less. Davis and Smith are running neck and neck.

That was 6 years ago. What has she done lately but to cost us a competitive Senate seat ?

Venice, Florida, which is in Sarasota.

Of course, Buchanan and Hudson are also from Sarasota (in Sarasota County)

Sarasota and Manatee County is pretty much all of the CD, for all intensive purposes.

No way, Tommy Franks is afraid of running against Harris !

Maybe he figured there were enough nutcase Harris-worshippers around who would attack him as a RINO Bush puppet if he ran against her, and vote for Harris over Franks in the primary because Katherine likes to ride dead horses.

Tommy Franks beat enough loonies in his time, I'm sure he wasn't anxious to deal with more stateside.

Hi, y'all. Sitting up here in Illinois glued to this live thread and waiting for the returns. I emailed my whole personal list of Florida friends and neighbors this morning reminding them to get over to the polling place to vote for the good guys.

My votes for Cong. Harris and Tom Gallagher were cast absentee two weeks ago.

I'll see you around during the next couple hours. My decaf coffee and homemade English Toffee Cookies are at the ready.

(Sigh) I don't see the point of all this Harris-bashing. If I was a Floridian, I wouldn't have voted for her, but I don't get all this deep-seated hatred toward her. Did she run over all of your dogs or something? While riding on that horse of hers?

Control of the Senate affects all of us. Her ego, ineptitude, cluelessness, and bullheadedness will almost certainly lead to the miss of a golden opportunity to remove a Democrat Senator. Watching the cult of Harris celebrate tonight will be like watching the Ned Lament primary party or the Keyes for IL Senate kickoff party. And yes, the spamming of that silly pic, as if 'Boobs on a Horse' is a trumping summation of why she should be elected, just reinforces the stereotype of an unrealistic utopian cult.

But if she does win the primary, my snarks end (at least until election night), as she will then be the GOP candidate and far better than Nelson. Unfortunately she has nearly zero chance of winning, but in a few minutes or hours it will be too late for noting that to make any difference whatsoever, other than further reducing turnout for her. The primary voters will have decided and it will be time to move forward, rally round the nominee, and try and engineer a miracle comeback. Sitting out is just as bad as voting Dem.

The RNC better give her their full support if she wins.

They shouldn't give her any. I'm pretty sure the Liddy morons running NRSC won't give her anything.

I like your FRname.

Politically, yes. As for money, not necessarily. The RNC better allocate their limited funds to the most competitive races. If she makes it competitive, then yes, money to her. If not, they shouldn't be wasting it.

What kind of logic is that? She is entitled to run for office just like anyone else. If she wins the primary, she is the GOP nominee. If the GOP can get out the vote in this Red state, she has a definite chance to win. Right now, she is winning almost 50% of the vote. How is she doing it if she is as bad as you think she is?

If it were a boxing ring, you can bet lots of the big talkers around here wouldn't be standing. Big time, as Uncle Dick Cheney would say.
