As usual, Brit has the best understanding and comments on things like this.

IMHO it is not so much as that the people that work in these departments are political as such but of a certain mentality that in practice fits in more with a left wing agenda.

Maybe you have to have this mentality to work at such an organisation that must have a large bureaucracy the average conservative would find his both frustrating and a waste of time and money.

Brit couldn't name them because he only had a 1 hour show! Suffice it to say it was the entire Stone-age press establishment including FOX had Rove in leg irons and convicted waiting for the deal to impeach Bush.

The only slightly surpising fact is that they all knew it was Armitage and were all framing Rove. Why should we be at all surprised with that after Rathergate, etc. is a mystery.

From this day forward it is assumed lies until proven true.

Will you or someone here please tell me WHAT lie(s) Libby is accused of? I know that he said (under oath) he had talked w/Russert and Russert in a telephone "interview" (not under oath) w/Fitzgerald denied that he and Libby had talked. Lie or faulty memory? Russert lying? Or...?

He told FBI agents and the grand jury that he first heard of Wilson's wife working for the CIA from Tim Russert. This Russert denies saying he didnt know it until Novak's column ran.

More importantly there are four or five witnesses plus Libby's own notes which indicate that he requested information on how Wilson was selected and was told by both State and CIA that Wilson had been recommended by his wife who worked at the CIA. In fact, the reason that Armitage knew about Plame sending her husband to Niger was because he was copied on memo to Libby answering this question.

Subsequently, Libby conducted several meetings with Cheney, Rove, and later with Press Sec Ari Fleischer discussing what to do with the information. A week or two before the Novak article appeared, he met with Ari Fleischer and tried to get him to feed the story to the press. His big life was after being told numerous times in writing and verbally that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA, and then discussing in several meetings what to do with that information, he makes up this story about first hearing about it from Russert and subsequently from Judith Miller and Cooper long after he already knew it.

I can't imagine anyone in the media is all to comfortable.

Remember, the NSA investigation is still going on. And it is looking very close at NYT and WAPO. Which makes it so ironic that they both issue " oops mybad" column's on the Plame affair this week. And they were not just " oops " column but more " how dare that idiot Joe do something like this" which we can all agree makes it all just that more appalling. Although this DOES fit the definition of arrogant to a tee does it not?

I think what this whole thing is ..well ... is what we thought it was. An opportunity for the left to try and play gotcha with Bush. Remember during the whole ramp up with Grand Jury testimony and all... there was a dam poll every day to make sure it was working for them.

I don't think Joe Wilson is smart enough to initiate this. Remember the story from Novak was a little over a week old and nobody was talking about her being a CIA agent in covert status until .. I think it was Schumer on Russerts show that started saying something about " outing " her. I'll look into the archives. But look at the time line and nobody and I mean nobody was asking about covert status until AT LEAST a week or two after the column. It was planned and orchestrated to deflect the fact that Wilson had absolutely no credibility. They were losing the argument fast and had to come up with something. But as with the left they latched onto an empty argument and just went with it full bore because thats all they had.

I think Bush called their bluff when he appointed Fitzy and hoped that would put an end to their foolishness. But we forget the vanity and the absolute shallowness of guys like Mathew's, O'Donnel, Stephy, and Russert to be sure.

What's going to happen? Nothing. We will do what we always do. Forever wait for the truth to come out and when it does get emotionally kicked in the " ..." because we knew it all along. We wont get the satisfaction of watching them pay for their lies. That's why we have the Free Republic so we can all get together and soak up the wonderful collection of souls that have a combined character that would make most mothers weep with joy.

Someone should inform Hidin Biden that the German insurgent fighting lasted another 10 years. Also might mention that we haven't left Germany yet.

I agree with you. I don't know that many federal workers but the state and city workers here are overwhelmingly liberal Democrats. IMHO, it's the power and job security that attracts them more than anything else.

Are you sure W should have been told?

My view is any potential criminal activity needs to be handled by authorities outside the political realm and let them begin an investigation.
It was W that went along with the Fitzgerald fiasco.
Gonzales was asked if he wanted to know the details and he turned down the offer.

Re: Colin Powell...

I seem to remember a couple of pictures on the DOSE thread of President and Mrs. Bush entering Colin Powell's home for dinner...and that was very long ago...

How could Powell invite them to his home, after betraying President Bush like he did?

#293,not only were we allowed to fight the Nazi's,they were mostly concentrated in Germany and countries that they overran like France. Germany was where the Nazi's had their home, and we could concentrate on Defeating Germany to defeat them. We also did not have smarmy, anti-American DBM and DNC types trying to defeat our Military by undermining them and the President at every turn. There was a lot of Patriotism that is sadly lacking today since so many Democrats and DBM types have gone over to the left so far they might as well be all registered as Communists. We had an almost 100 percent effort by our Citizens in America to defeat the enemy, and most Americans were Patriotic, not so with these people today. I do question their Patriotism, and I never thought I would see in my lifetime the kind of person that would be so anti GWB ,and the GOP that they would hate their own Country and try to destroy it from within. They believe the crappola that is spewed by the DNC DBM that if we just get rid of all the GOP in the Majority, everything will be wonderful. They are Children that never grew up and never will. The poor stupid boobs think that if they succeed in destroying this Country that they will not go down in flames screaming and begging all the way.
