Or, libby could have just been confused like he said he was!!!!
Hold onto that. It's a good look for you.
I see I have been some what remiss in my duties. I will strive harder to keep bringing this example up.
While Armitage bears a lot of responsibility, its not all his fault. He did appear before the grand jury several times and he was asked by the prosecutor not to talk to the Press while the investigation was ongoing.
Soooo, he is guilty until proven INNOCENT????
I don't think sd!
Hey Rod, did you have any more info on this story? Was it a group or oganization doing this?
Seems like there is a short list of who wants to be on TV Sunday morning. Nobody under 50 and nobody who hasn't been on TV a hundred times before.
IMHO, I haven't heard ANYTHING from the dems in the last SIX YEARS that HASN'T BEEN nothing but political bullcrap.
I'm sure the dems would have LOVED Rummy to take 400-500k troops in at once in 2003, so they would have been a "better target" for whatever Saddam had planned in the WMD catagory for our troops, hit the 10,000 KIA mark that was possibly predicted, all within JUST the first 30 or so days of our entering Iraq, and THEN all the other stuff that came later,(IED's,Iran's involvement, etc.)
If Saddam WAS gonna try any WMD's, IMHO, him and his boys knew if they DID, we would have gone medieval on his butt, and because he didn't have a large enough "target" to make it worth his or his army's attempt to do so, it didn't happen. If it WOULD have, that would have given the dems AND F'n a REAL platform for his 2004 POTUS run....uh, and then retreat.
I am STILL AMAZED at the strength, speed, and fortitude of those ground troops having to initially perform their jobs, while having to deal with Chem gear on to slow them down.
That is easy to understand. If you are looking for news, especially breaking news, you are not likely to find it on Fox. All they have are the talking heads, O'Reilly, Hannity, Gretta and so on. And what do they discuss: Jon Bonet or another murder. News, what is new. It's entertainment all the time.
The idiot Juan Williams (and many on the left) have already forgotten the 40+ year Cold War, in which the fate of the world was balanced between two nuclear superpowers attempting to expand their spheres of influence without blowing everything up.
Maybe they forget because our Cold War communist enemy was further right than their brethren Carter, Moore, Lamont, Dean, et al. are today.
In any event, I hope God does not smile on these idiots in November.
Some how I think even my neighbor's dog is smarter then Whaaan. After all, after one or two smacks the dog quit pissing on their new pine tree while Juan comes back to the same spot week after week for his smackdown. :-)
#262, the extraordinary measures that the SS took for the Filthiest Perverted President we every had(with Lyndon Johnson that took some doing)make anything they do for President Bush pale in comparison. Even with Terrorists hiding out just waiting to strike. Clinton was protected from the free speech of Protesters,GWB certainly is not. I picketed Clinton a few times and even a couple of blocks from my Home, I was not even allowed on the same side of the street as the Building(where the Rally was) that was set back from that street by about a block. I had plenty of signs, and I got tickets for other picketers to be inside, but I knew I would not be allowed in with those signs. One place we went at FIU Campus we were surrounded by so many Police you could not get anywhere near the Stage. Williams reminds me of a bloodhound with Rabies and his bias cannot be hidden anymore that Russert's bias can be covered up any longer.
:-(
But the President was involved because he publically resolved to fire the leaker. Armitage would have been the case to act on that promise and could have started writing bash Bush book. It would have been a clear warning to many in government that leaking can be hazardous to your career in addition to the US citizens who are usually the victims.
This could have been finalized in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor and we wouldn't have gone through months of BS.
Brian and fat chris are typical of the DBM no surprise there. It's sad to see Williams take a steady downward trajectory however. Fat chris has been upset lately that he is now know as a lib/rat,--too bad chrissy, you will get over it. I am no listening to Fat Tim on c-Spam he just can't stand it that there "were" WMD's. He is trying to take down GW big time for the WOT in Iraq, but as usual he is loosing.
Armitage was a Bush political appointee and so was his boss, Colin Powell. His actions were reprehensible. He should have been fired immediately if the WH knew about his perfidy.
The granting of visas to high profile people like Khatami must be cleared by the WH and NSC. The State Department would never make such a decision on its own. The decision to grant a visa to Jerry Adams was made by Clinton over the objections of the State Department career types.
Prior to 9/11 the Visa Express program for Saudi Arabians was an approved program by the WH and Congress. The Saudis have always had tremendous influence in the WH regardless of who was in there. Bandar used to go over the head of the State Department and get what he wanted. He even had our ambassador, Hume Horan, removed from his job in Riyadh even though he was just carrying out the WH orders of issuing a reprimand to the Saudis for not informing us about their purchase and installation of Chinese missiles.
The Saudi Visa program continued after 9/11, but once it became public, Mary Ryan, the Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs, was forced to resign as the scapegoat for administration policy.
It appears to me as one more (dangerous) example of a government that is unable to move in one direction. The preferrred direction being the national security of the US.
It is far easier to blame a govenment bureaucrat than their political masters. The idea that the State Department or CIA is a renegade agency is more myth than reallity. So is the idea that they are not interested in the national security of the US. They are on the frontlines of the stuggle with their lives on the line. They are among the first to experience the consequences of foreign policy decisions.
#275, maybe he will stay on as Condi's Press Secretary.
It is pretty stunning how good Ms Derek still looks. Did you know Heather Locklear is also a Republican?
