This is an expansion on debg's summary of Adam Gadahn's Al Qaeda videotape, available for download at http://www.lauramansfield.com/j/nnnnmn-1.rm.
debg: He spent a long time saying we are ignorant
Gadahn did indeed spend a long time calling us "ignorant."
After Zawahiri's introduction, he also accused us of "rapturously applause" when Israel wages war, of assenting to our governments' "atrocities in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere in the Muslim world." He also accuses us of "voicing our approval" of the so-called desecration of the Koran at Gitmo, and of our "yellow press and tele-evangelists insulting the 'Prophet' Muhammad [piss be upon him - my comment]."
We apparently have a "seething animosity" paired with our "ignorance" towards their religion. He recounts a supposed incident where he was making the proscribed Mohammadan prayer in a suburban shopping center parking lot, and a man sped by in his SUV, shouting "Worship Jesus, your Lord." He immediately afterwards brings up the term "gas guzzler."
He describes our "ignorance" as "willful," comparing it to the "ignorance" of a contemporary of Muhammad. He accuses Western civilization for making "arrogant claims," since it supposedly describes itself as "the most knowledgeable in the history of the world" and has "uncovered the secrets of the heavens and earth." Gadahn then gives a list of supposed atrocities of Western Civilization. The first one, of course, was the Crusades, followed by the Inquisition and "countless unholy bloodbaths." He also mentions "lynch laws," Jim Crowe, and accuses us of having a "death row where only convicts of certain races are sent."
Western civilization also supposedly introduced the concentration camp; enslaved Africa; slaughtered Native Americans; "firebombed Dresden, Tokyo, and Fallujah; nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki;" "facilitated the creation of the state of Israel over the dead bodies of the Muslims;" and uphold a supposed holy book (the Bible) that contains passages that support the slaughter of innocents during the time of war.
According to Gadahn, because of all these atrocities, the people of the West cannot accuse his religion of "barbarity and brutality." He criticizes the practice of removing public officials for "anti-Semitism," an "unforgivable sin" which is apparently acceptable to him and his companions. He also criticizes the fact that flag burning is an issue in politics.
The West apparently "embraces without hesitation every obscure and foreign religion, philosophy, and ideology" and think that "Islam is an exclusively Arab religion." In Gadahn's view, Christianity, whose most important "prophet" is Jesus, apparently forbade the preaching of the Gospel to the Gentiles and Samaritans, giving the impression that Jesus never ordered His apostles to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth. He even has the gall to quote the Gospels to support his argument. Christians are apparently "ignorant" of their own religion!
Christian and Western political leaders in the West are also partly to blame for the "ignorance" apparently rampant here. He says that they "blur the picture of Islam in minds and eyes of their flocks in order to better facilitate their control and domination" of the people in the West, using "scare tactics" and "terrorizing... with the bogey[man] of Islam." This is done also to "avoid having to face difficult questions about the West's dark and bloody past and equally dark and bloody present."
Up until that last point, Gadahn's tone is that of an arrogant elite, who supposedly knows the truth about the West, and berating the ignorant masses here. He then states that he knows that there are those in the West who will "respond positively upon hearing the truth," and extends to them a "heartfelt invitation" to his religion. He then makes his case for Islam, using the long-used propaganda of that religion, such as "the fact" that the holy men mentioned in the Bible, from Adam to Jesus, were Muslims. Judaism is supposedly "a tribal religion concocted by the priests and rabbis of Israel." He also states that "a pagan trinatarianism [was] introduced into the religion of the Messiah [Christianity] by the Church Fathers, and imposed by the force of the Roman state."
Followers of his religion reject "every false god, whether it be a rock, or a human being, or a government, with its polytheistic constitution, courts, and laws; or an international organization, like the United Nations, with its international laws, tribunals, and treaties of unbelief; and its Security Council whose resolutions never fail to side with the Zionist Crusader fascists."
After Gadahn makes this statement of rejection, he spends the rest of his time pushing his religion and arguing in favor of it. During this part of the presentation, he warns the West to not "attempt to spread your [the West's] misery and misguidance to our [Islamic] lands." Muslims, he says, "don't need democracy to rid themselves of their home-grown despots and tyrants. What they [the Muslims] do need their Islamic faith, the spirit of jihad, and the lifting of foreign troops and interference from their necks. They "certainly have no need for what is known as Christianity, that hollow shell of a religion, whose followers cling to an empty faith."
The tenets of Christianity that Gadahn describes as being "Pauline" are "the most unbelievable, untenable, and illogical" component of the religion. He condemns these tenets, such as the notion that the Bible, which is supposedly full of "contradictions, errors, deletions, and outright fabrications," is the "infallible revealed Word of God;" original sin; the "non-biblical" belief in the Trinity. He also condemns the belief in the Incarnation, and the atoning Sacrifice of the Cross.
After a few more rants, Gadahan talks about "the Zionist Crusader, missionaries of hate, and counter-Islam consultants like Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, Michael Shore (spelling?), and even that Crusader-in-Chief, George W. Bush," and states that if they "abandoned their unbelief and repent, and "enter into the light of Islam," they would be his "brothers in Islam."
Along with these notables, the "foot soldiers of the Crusade, and those who have no active part in the War Against Islam, other than paying the taxes which fund the Crusader War Machine, are "like pre-programmed machines, or laboratory animals," "the real victims" who have been mislead by "con-men and women" who are the "school teachers, pastors, and politicians" in the West.
Gadahn then appeals again to his audience, that "if you want to be on the winning side in this life and in the next, and if you want your resistance to Crusader tyranny to truly count," then they must convert to Islam. He makes a particular appeal to members of the U.S. military, saying that "the war can't be won, the condition of America's war machine is going from bad to worse," and that they are considered to be "expendable cannon fodder" by Bush and his administration. He calls for investigative journalists to reveal the "cover up" of the mass casualties going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. He even pronounces "Genghis Khan" like Senator John Kerry.
Towards the end of the video, Gadahn reports that he was delighted to hear of the supposed conversion of U.S. soldiers to Islam by their jihadi prisoners at "American concentrations camps which blacken the globe." He calls on them to be "role models for their comrades," and advises them to "make their escape from the oppressor armies" before they are persecuted for rejecting "American terrorism and Crusader values." He also calls on people like George Galloway and Robert Fisk, who supposedly "respect Islam" to "stop sitting on the fence" and convert to Islam.
While Gadahn recognizes the killing of non-Muslims done by his Al-Qaeda comrades, he rejects any allegation that message represents a "change of tone," from their terrorist ways, that "their message has not changed," and that "the Mujahadeen have always been the first to call to Islam." He "thank[s] God every day for guiding him to Islam" and away from the "debt, debauchery, and doubt they call the American dream." He ends his presentation with a line of praise for Allah and Muhammad in Arabic.

I saw that the topics for this thread were reduced to "Your Opinion/Questions." It is more than that, but a summary of the Adam Gadahn podcast (if you want to call it that). Therefore, I have put it into extended news, foreign affairs, and war on terror topics. If you feel this should be the case, just removed the extended topic.
I've tried having a conversation with a liberal about it but she apprently hasn't recieved her talking points yet. All she would say is "War is never the answer".
Good summary thank you.

Folks, according to CNN and numerous others news outlets:
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- A new videotape has surfaced featuring Osama bin Laden's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and an American member of al Qaeda wanted by the FBI, according to a counterterrorism expert.Read the entire story here. The tape, called "Invitation to Islam," runs 48 minutes, expert Laura Mansfield said. Al-Zawahiri speaks for about 4 minutes on the tape, and the American narrates the rest.
Californian Adam Gadahn, wearing a white robe and turban, introduces the message by calling on Westerners to convert. (Watch Gadahn accuse President Bush of not caring about U.S. troops -- 5:42)
Gadahn says that even Americans working with President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair are invited to embrace Islam, but they should hurry.
"We invite all Americans and believers to Islam, whatever their role and status in Bush and Blair's world order," Gadahn says. "Decide today, because today could be your last day."
Here's my answer:
Do so soon, because He may you call you to His presence any time now, and not necessarily through my doing or through the doing of the earthly might of the United States of America.
Although I wouldn't disregard that possibility either, since God acts in mysterious ways.
I'm glad you saw this thread, Teófilo. :-)

Was your father from that part of the world?

I think this one makes liberals a little nervous. He didn't leave a whole lot of room for interpetation. Convert or we will kill you is pretty straight forward.
