A Day in the Life of President Bush (best photos of the week): 9-2-06
www.yahoo.com & other sources ^ | 9-2-06

Posted on 09/02/2006 4:06:56 PM PDT by silent_jonny

President and Mrs. Bush are spending Labor Day weekend at their ranch in Crawford, Texas.*

*This is based only on the information I could find. I could be wrong.

On Tuesday, September 5, the president will resume his series of speeches which remind us all of the true nature of our enemy (the Islamic fascists), while criticizing the critics of the WOT (the leftist appeasers).

With no other news available, today’s Dose will recap the best photos of the week.

Enjoy your Saturday visit to Sanity Island

Wonderful Dose Jonny,

getting here late & had to start over at the Singles thread that I am hosting this weekend. It is primarily a PM thread & I am usually gone most evenings so am really a lousy hostess... but at least the doors are opened.

Love the Papyrus font. Wonder what people see if they don't have that font on their computer. I am a font freak.. embarrassed to tell you how many I have.

Thanks for the tour. You really crammed a lot in.

My dining room chairs are upholstered in a similar (but not exact) diamond pattern of the exact same color as the cushions in St John's. Now I will think of the President and Laura praying every time I look at my chairs.

Well .. I always pray Isaiah 54:17 which says, "But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.

And .. it was all because the security people in Chili were not going to let Bush's security people follow in after the President. I got the general impression that it had been a royal pain from the time Bush arrived.

When Bush went into the crowd of security people and grabbed his secret service guy and dragged him out from the middle of the group - he said something like, "that's the end of it" .. or "it's all over with".

And .. from then on there was NO MORE PROBLEM.

I remember the dems were outraged at his "cowboy" style - but our President knew exactly what he was doing.

I agree .. Powell was getting even for Bush ignoring him about the war in Iraq - which he was against.

That is exactly what I was alluding to he felt he was duped especially over the weapons of mass destruction but he could have handled this in and adult and private manner.

He has alienated many people who respected him over the years and that is sad.

The Cheney's and Powell's were close at one time in fact in Mary Cheney's book she thanks Alma Powell for providing Thanksgiving meal for them when her father was hospitalized. I suspect now that relationship is very strained.

I have a fair few fonts as well Dolly many have installed with the various programs I have thrown onto the machine.

Yes I agree papyrus is a nice one though not sure if this comes with windows automatically or if you need to install it will have to check machine at work because that only has standard fonts on it.

My old 486 was so slow because it literally had so many fonts on it since then I have been more conservative with them but gradually they seem to appear. :o)

This quote is a balm & timely

Thank you Purple :)

I found it in a book this past week, but I had to search online to find out who wrote it.

Adam Lindsay Gordon (1833-1870), Australian poet (the only Australian poet to be honored with a bust in the Poet's Corner of Westminster Abbey in London).

This is a statue of Gordon outside the Parliament House in Melbourne, Australia.

Good eye, Dolly :)

There are only a few fonts that I can identify by sight.

Chiller

Andy

Forte

The rest I have to look up :)

Hi, CyberAnt :) Hope you're doing well.

I always pray Isaiah 54:17 which says, "But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong ..."

I share that prayer with you.

Amen.

I think Papyrus is standard. I can see it on my pc and I don't have any special font programs installed.

There are some fonts I can't see, though ...

Like Brush Script

And Comic Sans

They look like plain ol' Times New Roman to me.
