A Day in the Life of President Bush (best photos of the week): 9-2-06
www.yahoo.com & other sources ^ | 9-2-06

Posted on 09/02/2006 4:06:56 PM PDT by silent_jonny

President and Mrs. Bush are spending Labor Day weekend at their ranch in Crawford, Texas.*

*This is based only on the information I could find. I could be wrong.

On Tuesday, September 5, the president will resume his series of speeches which remind us all of the true nature of our enemy (the Islamic fascists), while criticizing the critics of the WOT (the leftist appeasers).

With no other news available, today’s Dose will recap the best photos of the week.

Enjoy your Saturday visit to Sanity Island

Night, Kitkat.

Guess I'll turn in, too.

Slow night, but thanks to everyone for contributing.

(Thinking of you, Wolfstar.)

Good night.

Outstanding virtual tour ilg! Thank you once again for sharing your vacation to our nation's capital with us.

"Whatever Happened to Polio?" and "The Star-Spangled Banner." sound like exhibits I would like to see. It has been so long since I have actually toured any of the sights in DC.

I remember as a small child going to a school in the next town to get the sugar cube that was the polio vaccine. All ages stood in line and were handed small cups containing the cube. Odd that I remember that.

He must have been pleased to see that the areas he'd seen right after the storm have been cleared away. But now there are nothing but slabs on both side of Hwy 90 as you drive from Biloxi all the way to Waveland. It is amazing the amount of destruction Katrina caused. Things are slow getting re-built because folks were waiting to hear if their insurance was going to cover any of their damage costs. In many cases, it wasn't much, if they didn't have flood insurance, and most cases, they were told they didn't NEED it. I can guarantee you that if we move close to the water we'll be getting it. It may be more expensive now, but it's better than not having any at all!

St Louis Cathedral is a gorgeous Church! I love those pictures of the President and First Lady going up in the Communion line to receive a Blessing!

I got my polio vaccine at the same time I got my kindergarten booster shot. Mine wasn't a sugar cute. It was a pink liquid that tasted like cherry and came in a little plastic vial. Quite good actually. According to the exhibit, however, they don't give the vaccine orally anymore. I guess there were some side effects from it, but I do not remember what they were.

Glad you liked the tour. I couldn't think of a better place to vacation than the home of our government. It is such a majestic city, so much history. Not to mention, the aura of our patriotic president seems to touch even the streets.

Yes the sugar cube I remember that from childhood in fact also adulthood.

I think it was when I went to Egypt I was advised to have the polio vaxine and I was surprised when they gave it to me on a sugar cube.

I bet 7 years on they do not would not be PC to give proper sugar to children or I suppose adults.

It was a pink liquid that tasted like cherry and came in a little plastic vial.

Yes, it was a pink liquid that they put on the sugar cube and placed it in the vile to pass out. As you know, that was a long time ago!

, the aura of our patriotic president seems to touch even the streets.

So that is what drives the commies nuts?!?!

Another great flag pic! I am in awe of your collection.

I suspect the reason they do not give it orally is because you need to put sugar with it and it is not PC to give children sugar now.

Time has come for me to go to bed not that I feel tired having slept most of the day because of the cold but I suppose I had better at least lie down for a while.

Good night all

Thank goodness someone else remembers the sugar cube! It seem odd to me that I remember it so well. It wasn't a traumatic experience or anything.

would not be PC to give proper sugar to children or I suppose adults

This PC garbage must be stopped!
