Highly enriched uranium found in Iran

UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- The International Atomic Energy Agency told the U.N. Security Council its inspectors have found new traces of enriched uranium in Iran.
The discovery marked the third instance that highly enriched uranium was found at an Iranian facility, but the IAEA said the nuclear fingerprint on the new discovery does not match that found on earlier samples, which the agency had concluded came from contaminated equipment from Pakistan, The New York Times reported Friday.
The 6-page IAEA report did not identify where the uranium might have originated or whether it was connected to a secret nuclear program in Iran. The country has insisted that its nuclear program is aimed only at producing energy, a task that would use uranium enriched at much lower levels than that found by the IAEA inspectors.
The report said that Iran was continuing to produce enriched uranium at low levels and on a small scale at its Natanz facility.
The Security Council had set Thursday as a deadline for Iran to discontinue enrichment, and a failure to comply by the country could result in economic and political penalties.

Only when Israel is a Neutron plume, will the 'world' take action. It will be in the manner of a press release condemning the action, but the subterfuge joy of the co-annihilators will be hard to suppress. Israel will be gone, millions of zionists will be detroyed, and the arab world will return to destroying themselves again and again, but with one less interloper.Since Israel is suspected to posses a couple hundred nuclear and thermonuclear weapons, I wouldn't bet on your scenario coming true.

I don't see how ANY inspection program can stop a country that wants to make a nuke from doing so. Actually, I think that as a sovereign nation they have every right to make a nuke. And we have a sovereign right to stop them.

Highly enriched Uranium is not used for "peaceful" purposes.
Again, this is a surprise to whom? This is exactly what Ahmadinejab said he was going to do and for the purpose he said he was going to do it.

So when are we going to send the Iranians our own sample of highly enriched uranium. Pretty sure we could hook them up with an express delivery package.

The country has insisted that its nuclear program is aimed only at producing energy I wonder when the media will stop repeating this garbage, over and over again....
Why does no media person who asks a question of representatives of Iran, always omit the obvious.
The latest being the construction of a heavy water breeder that is good for just one thing, and that is plutonium......(I think I'll just leave this as a statement..)
Since the stated policy is to disallow Iran's presumed entry into the nuclear bomb club, then why don't we directly and publicly confront them, so that everyone can stop speculating and start acting responsibly.
If Russia's primary mission is to sell Iran a billion bucks worth of SAM's to shoot down allied aircraft, then they should be called to account.
I wish we would quit playing games....

Since Israel is suspected to posses a couple hundred nuclear and thermonuclear weapons, I wouldn't bet on your scenario coming true. You assume, of course, that the Islamokazis care about surviving, or that a "mere" 200 nukes is sufficient to kill 1.2 billion Muslims.

Wow! It looks like it may be time for an ultimatum! And if they ignore that ultimatum, we'll give them a really, really big ultimatum, which they better not ignore. Otherwise, it's more ultimatums, buddy!

Sounds like a great start anyway.

And if we pull a Kerry and wait until attacked, what good is our "measured response" to the innocent citizens of (name your Israeli or US city here)?

Careful here. Everyone in the world (including Iran itself) could confirm the presence of enriched uranium, but once we schwack Iran, they will all deny that it ever existed.Suppose we use a B2 Stealth and drop a nuclear bunker buster on a known site. Then WE go on tv and say:
See? We told you messing with nuclear weapons technology was dangerous. Now one of your peaceful installations has gone and blown itself UP!

The IAEA can't distinguish it's collect *$$ from a hole in the ground.
Nor pull it's head out of either.
