Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart and University of Southern California basketball player Brynn Cameron are expecting a baby in the fall, PEOPLE has learned.

Leinart, 23, one of PEOPLE's 2006 Most Beautiful People, graduated from USC in December 2005 and lives in Los Angeles and Arizona.

Cameron, a 20-year-old USC junior, will sit out the upcoming basketball season.

"It's an exciting time in their life," says a source who knows both athletes. "They both have support from their families."

Matt told his parents, "I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is I got a girl pregnant. The good news is it isn't Paris Hilton."

Seriously, let's look at the positives: 1) she isn't having an abortion, 2) it may cause Leinart to mature, which is obviously needs and 3) it wasn't Paris Hilton.

Of course not. I just trust God to dish out judgment more than I trust man to do so.

But we have to judge otherwise society would collapse. We need to judge what behavior is right and which is wrong. Jesus said to judge justly not to stop judging all together.

I'd like a show of hands from the folks on this thread who ever engaged in premarital sex. If you have also made comments questioning Matt and Brynn's morality, I would then like you to SHUT UP!

Seconded.

Armed robbery is a violent crime.

So is abortion.

If he succeeds in the NFL, this will be the first of a long line of precious little meal tickets for the various mommas.

Football's Matt Leinart to Be a Father

Also the title of the article is misleading. Matt Leinart has yet to prove he is worthy of the title "Father", yet.

I hope he takes responsibility and becomes a great Father and roll model to his child and millions of other kids who love football.

If more people had the gutsprudence to express moral outrage mind their own business over bad behavior matters which do not concern them, the world would be a much better place, not a worse one.

Glad to help. >:)

And why is grandpa making this announcement to Fox Sports?

If Brynn is due in Nov., and just found out a month ago that she's expecting....well, probably best to let daddy speak for her....at least he sounds happy about the new baby....while Matt does "his thing" and Brynn does hers...somebody will be around that actually has time for the baby..

Who does Leinart think he is? An NBA player?!!!
No, Steve Garvey.

"Honk If You're Carrying Steve Garvey's Baby"...STILL my all-time favorite bumper sticker.

Then why is parents living together the preferred state?

The non-judgmentalists (i.e., non-judgmental about everything except people with morals) will say that growing up in a married two-parent household is just a preference, like choosing chocolate over vanilla ice cream. You can point out to them a TON of data indicating that kids generally do better materially and psychologically in a married two-parent home, and they will just bounce back with an anecdote about somebody (often themselves) who grew up in a single-parent household and turned out just fine. If you question either this anecdote or its universality, you will be accused of attacking them personally on account of your old-fashioned Taliban-style opinions.

Bottom line: People who have concluded that right and wrong don't matter anymore have a vested personal interest in this idea, and the interest in almost always their desire to feel good about themselves and those they like no matter how egregious their violations of traditional morality. There is no way whatsoever to respond to them--except by staying as far away as possible (and keeping your kids away too).

I certainly don't support or condone having children outside of marriage, but it's not the baby's fault. Must we keep referring to the innocent one as a "bastard"?

It will only be a bastard by definition. Does the truth bother you?

Let's not throw stones in glass houses! Everyone here who has conceived a child out of wedlock, please raise your hand. Everyone who has conceived a child out of wedlock and gotten married before the child was born, please stand up. OK, now you may return to your seat and put your hand down. Thank You for your cooperation!

I truly don't think being judgmental or that right or wrong don't matter is the issue in this case. I haven't seen anyone saying the parents haven't erred. It is the labeling of the innocent child who did not ask to be brought into this world. Bastard is not just a word, it has condemning connotations and everyone knows it. Regardless of what the PARENTS did, the CHILD should not suffer. And to use a child to bring the parents shame as someone else suggested? Seems the wrong place to put the burden, IMO.

She has faced up publicly to her actions and will have to live with that. That takes courage, IMO.

This thread is the exact reason that the left accuses us (prolifers) of being in love with the fetus, but don't expect any help when you come in to the world. She didn't have an abortion, carries to term, is going to parent, and now her child gets called names?? By prolifers??? Can't wrap my head around that one.

"It" is a human being.

The truth doesn't bother me in the least. Self-righteous, judgemental hypocrites do.

Good Lord! The baby is quite unlikely to know what names he or she might be called. But without two parents in the home, the CHILD will know exactly what it is to suffer for the sins of his parents. Sins? Yeah, sins. Even though PEOPLE magazine may be crowing about this situation (as it always does when "beautiful people" decide to bring illegitimate kids into the world), the truth is that these people decided that the welfare of a child was nothing by comparison with whatever thrills they get out of their sexual relationship and the publicity the pregnancy brings them.

Meanwhile, anyone stupid enough to read PEOPLE gets to share this glop:

He is currently raising money to start the Matt Leinart Foundation, a learning center for underprivileged and disabled children. "Kids are important to Matt," his rep tells PEOPLE. "He really wants to help kids who can't help themselves."
Know why kids in America are "underprivileged"? The biggest single reason is that they have parents who are as self-indulgent as these. Being called "bastard" is the very least of their troubles.

Or they will just secretely abort the baby, and there won't be any shame at all. Surely there is a way to support their decision to do the right thing, without giving approval to pre marital sex.
