reacting to polls is futile

Exactly. Polls are merely a product of the 'manufactured news' industry.

Don't buy them.

As he was graduating from Yale, John Kerry volunteered to serve in Vietnam, because, as he later said, "it was the right thing to do." He believed that "to whom much is given, much is required." And he felt he had an obligation to give something back to his country. John Kerry served two tours of duty. On his second tour, he volunteered to serve on a Swift Boat in the river deltas, one of the most dangerous assignments of the war. His leadership, courage, and sacrifice earned him a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with Combat V, and three Purple Hearts.

Apparently, as a veteran, I should be supporting Jack Murtha instead of Diana Irey as well. :-)

Veterans for Allen. Are you telling me that I, having served my country, do not have a right to choose my own candidate?

Not at all; certainly you have the right to choose your leader--it is, after all, the democratic way. But can you name, quickly now, one piece of legislation that Allen has sponsored to serve our state? Has he been out front, as John Warner has, on defense and BRAC issues so vital to the Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Va. Beach area? Is his name attached to any important bill?

I commend Kerry for his Vietnam service, but I also throughly condemn him for his Vietnam Veterans Against the War service...I met Kerry in 1991 and told him as much. To me, he sullied his service in the Navy with his embracing of the radical anti-war left that left so many of us embittered and shamed.

It also got a lot of attention from the black citizens of our state--some of whom, unfortunately, had family members put to death by lynching.

I'm sorry, if you're linking to Raising Kaine as a "news source" then you've just lost all credibility.

And you've blown your cover.

I'll say this much for the Senator, he knows where Craney Island is. Mr. Webb, doesn't. That is really somewhat disturbing. See, Webb was SecNav, (briefly), under Reagan, (has he mentioned that?).

During his brief stint as SecNav, I guess he wasn't aware that the Navy has a fuel farm at Craney Island, (the Navy's largest), in Portsmouth, VA.

I'm not sure Webb was aware of what was happening on his watch then, I wouldn't suspect he's any better now.

No credibility lost here...I asked simply if you (or Coop) could name one piece of legislation (that is legislation as in passed into law) that Allen has sponsored. You can't because there is none--absolutely nothing to show for the six years wasted in office on behalf of Virginia when our northern arteries are clogged with traffic, Northern industrial waste by the train car full comes to the landfills he nods at, illegal immigrants are invading our borders every day, and the only new jobs in our cities and towns are PT positions at Food Lion, convenient stores, fast food chains and good old Walmart. Meanwhile the average cost of tuition at VA's colleges and universities is skyrocketing, and public schools are places where you often take your life in your hands in trying to teach the stupid SOLs Allen initiated when he was the guv (I ought to know, I teach in one.)
