Looks like they're leaning towards the GFDL for the long-term track:

Yeah, I see that arc now. Sure as heck isn't very impressive - all the main convection has been pushed away. It will have to completely re-form now.

I'm looking forward to leaving the office in a few minutes so that I can catch up on things. I HATE IT when work gets in the way of reading FR!

I am not a bit surprised actually...

It just seemed like too much of a coincidence so soon after Patsy's death.

Florida Freepers: The Storm track has shifted again...

A Tropical Storm Warning is being issued for Florida from Vero Beach southward on the East Coast...from south of Chokoloskee southward on the West Coast...for Lake Okeechobee...and for all of the Florida Keys from Ocean Reef to the Dry Tortugas. These areas also remain under a Hurricane Watch.

How much rain did you get recently? How do your streams look?

And I wouldn't worry too much yet - as of 11pm, it was gonna hit the Outer Banks and not get anywhere near PA.

My boss just said that NOAA downgraded this again...changing the 'H' to a 'S' when it hits Florida......inotherwords it won't be a hurricane when it hits us. Course that could change any minute. That would also mean most of us will work.... since it won't be a 'hurricane warning'.....

There's been some flooding in the area. Waiting to see how much more rain we get supposedly later today. Yesterday was close to an inch.

Which quadrant is the one that throws out the most tornados? That's what I worry about.

We have a tropical storm warning superimposed on a hurricane watch.

Looks like Toronto could get a rainy tag end of it in a fortnight or so.

It looks like the entire western half of the storm is just being torn away, exposing the inner core (if you can call it that). The air ahead of it looks relatively dry as well.

It's the rip currents that are so dangerous in the coastal waters as the storm approaches. They'll take even the best swimmer away.

All due respect, but Hurricane David was a category 1 when off the coast of Brevard County in 1979.

ALL the original convection, including the eastern section, is now over a degree of latitude away. There is one leetle storm where they say the center is. And as you said, the air all the way to Florida looks very dry on the WV image.

Wunderground has it as a Cat 2 - it may be that you felt Cat 1 conditions with it just off the coast.
