Palestinian Interior Minister Saeed Seyam said efforts were under way to secure the release of Fox correspondent Steve Centanni, a 60-year-old American, and New Zealand-born cameraman Olaf Wiig, 36, within hours. Listening to Amy Kellogg...she is parsing her words VERY carefully..she clearly still feels on the spot. Until they are OUT of Gaza I think they are holding their collective breath to a degree.
I am reading back through the thread and find some of the posts just unbelievable. It's my opinion that FOX continued to STRESS the word GUEST intentionally to remind the Palestinians what their own culture (supposedly) teaches them. It was all part of the plan to save the lives of these men.

Well, you do have to admit the biggest reason the Pali's weren't happy about this kidnapping is that it had no self-serving purpose. In fact, it hurt their "cause".
While it was a slight move forward to hear mosques around the world were praying for their release, I don't think it really means much in the long run if this was a kidnapping that would have furthered the cause of the Palestinian people, the condemnation would not have come.

Conversion under gunpoint is not conversion.
No, it's not conversion. It was a smart move by these two in an attempt to ensure their own release. It's very possible they were told if they converted, condemned the actions of the West/Israel they would be let go.
