Welcome to the FReeper Canteen! We're honored to have you with us for another weekend of fun, music, and amusement. We hope that you enjoy the selections provided at the top of the thread and throughout the entire thread. If you love our military, currently or served in the past, we hope you feel comfortable. Thank you for your service to our country. To our allies, thank you for all you do by standing with us!!

MICHIGAN HOMECOMING
Until you return home, we're here!!

How this works!

1. Selections are provided for the enjoyment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies, and their family members. They're priority numero uno! Got it?

2. You can request music via the thread by pinging laurenmarlowe.

3. If you are just a lurker and not a member of FR, you are welcome to send us requests via email at musicrequests4u@gmail.com . Please put *Music Request* in the subject line. If we don't get back to you right away, please don't fret. We'll get there. These threads tend to fly! If you're a FReeper, ping laurenmarlowe or do it via FReepmail. Please help us free up the email for lurkers!

4. Not all music will be appropriate for kids. We welcome families to enjoy the music, but the ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY lies with you and not us. If you click on something and are offended, that's on you. We try to provide ample warning, but it's your mouse and decision.

5. Want to tick us off quickly? Hotlink our music! That is an absolute no-no! This is provided free of charge to our Troops, Veterans, Allies, and their families. Hotlinking takes bandwidth that could be given to them.

Jukeboxes at the Canteen are created through this program! Be careful! The music might be offensive on the site!

"Aw come on, tell the story, please? "

Ok! My fatherinlaw had to have back surgery and we all thought everything would be relatively normal. Well, Pop not ever having had any kind of anisthetic or strong pain killers did not react well at all. He's a very mild mannered nonassuming type of man, softspoken, never a swear word etc.

He became Dr. Jekyle! My husband spent one night trying to keep him in his nightgown and in bed. He lost the nightgown battle. Then it was trying to keep him from putting his walker through the window so he could "escape". And all of this was laced with foul language and horrible threats! My husband's other two brothers all had similiar stories from their babysitting nights! After about 3 days he finally became more himself but it was only with extremely quick reflexes did I miss getting flashed when he decided to examine his catheter while I filled in a couple of hours to watch him. Then I had to demand that a nurse get in the room immediately as he was trying to pull the postop drain out of his back! That was quite a time! And blessedly I think Pop doesn't remember any of it.

The digit will hurt more! but the intention is unmistakable!

Digits and intent in total won't compare to the resolve induced with fervor for the proper resolution in the long run that WILL prevail.

Thanks...it is a labor of love for our troops. Keep up the suggestions. They provide a wide range for our troops to listen to and enjoy.

I will gladly trow my two cents of suggestions in the general music hat, if that will make a difference. I do appreciate the effort and commitment you guys are dedicating to this forum for our troops.
A very noble cause for our fighting men and women in the war against terror.Indeed a labor of love...

Well, this is Madison, so a snake in the hall really isn't that big of a deal.:)

She was telling me about some of her neighbors..............a left-over flower child from the 60's, who asked a "cat psychologist" to "interview" her cat to find out whether the cat wanted the owner to get another cat; a guy who was watching meteor showers at 2:00 a.m. and kept everybody awake with his shouts of delight..............and of course, the guy who loaned her his lunch box so she had somewhere to put the snake until she was able to find her keys and get inside her apartment.:)

Thank heaven for that!
Meds and anesthesia do odd things to people sometimes..
Mr B had to have oral surgery once for an impacted tooth..
He wasn't coming out of the anesthesia..
Scared me hlf to death he did..
The Doc told me to talk to him, thinking that my voice would bring him around,
after many hours of crying and pleading to him, he came back to me..
Prolly just to shut me up!

I make to much working to not give my total in investment to "the company", however when the opportunity arises, I relax and enjoy with fervor my relaxation at the Canteen. : - )

Oh my......not a good day for her, or you either. Did you see the doc this morning? Or was that yesterday morning? My brain is starting to malfunction. Just about to go home. Gonna stop at Mickey Ds for one of these.

To: Kathy in Alaska; All

Good evening Kathy and everyone!

Great news! My son's girlfriend's cousin, a Marine, just arrived home today from 6 months in Iraq. He was first in California and said as soon as he was getting off the plane, he loved the smell of the air, back on U.S. soil! God Bless him!

His wife is giving him a surprise welcome home party on Sunday. They have a 3 yr. old little girl and another baby on the way.

Working weekends is my choice. We have been working one short for almost 3 months and I can't face not having most stuff done starting the new week. So I just keep track of my work time and play time and keep them separate. d:o)
