A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 8.22.06

After calling President Karzai of Afghanistan to discuss security measures and a potential visit, President Bush left the White House early this afternoon to go to Minnesota. In Minnetonka, he participated in a panel discussion on health care, and also signed an Executive Order to help increase the transparency of America's health care system - empowering Americans to find better value and better care. The order will require various federal agencies to compile information about the quality and price of health care they pay for, and share that information with their customers and each other. The White House website has posted a FACT SHEET about this order.

The President also attended a fundraiser for Minnesota Congressional Candidate, State Senator Michele Bachman after the panel discussion, and stopped for a frozen custard in Wayzata.

Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!

Well, it's hotter there than it is HERE (i.e. OHIO), but this summer it was over a hundred there too (and not here!)

The TC's are the Twin Cities.......Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Think of Dallas/ Ft. Worth, just get on the freeway there, and head north.......for a VERY LONG time. :)

Yeah, I heard that it's about a 3-4 day's drive from DFW...as opposed to the TCs! :D

I should just do it. I could fly...what a novel concept! LOL!

They are only available for a few weeks in the Fall. Actually, the first one I had was when we went camping in New Hampshire one October. We stopped at a roadside stand and they had several varieties, including the Macoun which was new to us. Then we discovered that a 'pick your own' farm near to us also grew them, and they were for sale in the local stores.

Well, you could do that. Flying is a good way to go. :)

As far as travel time goes, the way this family moves it would be only a couple of days.

We got from here to Oklahoma City in a 17 hour day, and we got from here to Denver without stopping in 20 hours!

Check that out on the map sometime! :)

"I thought it was really cool, since Tonka trucks were so famous, and Minnetonka is...........well...........not. :)"

LOL that's why I initially thought it was a joke.

& since you clarified that it was true,
than I thought Snugs knew it was true
thus not joking and then Snugs said
she did not know and...and...I think
I have it straight now.
My head is spinning...LOL!
;OD
