A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 8.22.06

After calling President Karzai of Afghanistan to discuss security measures and a potential visit, President Bush left the White House early this afternoon to go to Minnesota. In Minnetonka, he participated in a panel discussion on health care, and also signed an Executive Order to help increase the transparency of America's health care system - empowering Americans to find better value and better care. The order will require various federal agencies to compile information about the quality and price of health care they pay for, and share that information with their customers and each other. The White House website has posted a FACT SHEET about this order.

The President also attended a fundraiser for Minnesota Congressional Candidate, State Senator Michele Bachman after the panel discussion, and stopped for a frozen custard in Wayzata.

Find a map of the Twin Cities........then find Minneapolis, and head west past St. Louis Park and Hopkins.

That's where Minnetonka is.

(Hint.....they make little trucks there. :)

I read somewhere the other day that if you cannot smell something it is very difficult to taste it.

The exercise they said to use was to have a blindfold on and hold your nose as you eat something and try to indentify what it is apparently for most people this is almost impossible.

Come to think of it mum's sense of smell was awful and her taste was not great either.

It's actually true. Tonka trucks are made in Minnetonka.

Thus, Tonka trucks. :)

That's one of the 'funnest' things about looking at these pictures every day.

We see him interacting with 'regular' people all the time, and they ADORE him!

(Specially the girls. :)

And so the second part of your question is, look, I'm going to do what I think is right, and if people don't like me for it, that's just the way it is.

Right on, Mr. President!

A couple of months before my grandfather died, my mom talked him into adopting a kitty that was hanging around her office. After she'd been around a few weeks, they found she was pregnant. After he died she gave birth to 4 of the most gorgeous kittens... all different but each beautiful in their own way: one orange tiger stripe short-hair, one calico, and an orange tiger long-hair and what my mom called tortoise-shell long-hair. We handled the kittens just about from birth, and this kitty also was a great momcat. The big problem was, my mom had a German Sherpherd pup and momcat wouldn't tolerate her... so my parents kept both long-haired kittens and found good homes for the other two, but momcat had to go to the pound. It broke everyone's heart but she just couldn't stay.

Well, the one thing for certain is the frozen part, that stays the same regardless of the product lol.

custard
a pudding-like usually sweetened mixture made with eggs and milk

yogurt
a fermented slightly acid often flavored semisolid food made of milk and milk solids to which cultures of two bacteria (Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus) have been added [YUMMMMMY]

ice cream
a sweet flavored frozen food containing cream or butterfat and usually eggs [in other words, junk food!]
