World to end on August 22nd
8-13-2006 The Infidel Sage

Just in case you didn't know. And I have absolutely nothing to wear. The recent disrupted London based terrorist plot seems to fit suspiciously well as far as timing is concerned or it may have all been a coincidence. The long awaited 'other shoe' has not yet dropped, but I have to admit the Dark Lords of the Shia have been making me nervous lately with their veiled threats and mutterings and the other brand of militant Islam represented by the Al Qaeda always hates to be left out as well. One never knows for sure what's going to happen and when it comes to crackpots and murderous fanatics, the crystal ball is hazy at best.
There has been a lot of speculation throughout the internet but this Infidel may be a Sage but is a hesitant prophet. Could there be something be brewing? Absolutely. Will a world war break out on Tuesday? I doubt it. But I'll top of the gas tanks just in case. More here: Opinion Journal's August 22 Does Iran have something in store? . A couple of large FReeRepublic posts here, here and here. And FrontPageMagazine's Iran's Day of Terror?, and NewsMax's Iran Hints at Aug. 22 Doomsday for Israel.
"In Islam, as in Judaism and Christianity," the professor writes, "there are certain beliefs concerning the cosmic struggle at the end of time - Gog and Magog, anti-Christ, Armageddon, and for Shiite Muslims, the long-awaited return of the Hidden Imam, ending in the final victory of the forces of good over evil, however these may be defined.
"Mr Ahmadinejad [the Iranian president] and his followers clearly believe that this time is now, and that the terminal struggle has already begun and is indeed well advanced. It may even have a date, indicated by several references by the Iranian president to giving his final answer to the US about nuclear development by August 22. This was at first reported as 'by the end of August', but Mr Ahmadinejad's statement was more precise."
I'm a bit fuzzy on the time difference...when is the earliest the 12th Imam can see his shadow?
Six more weeks of apocalypse.
My Sunni friends are going to crack up over this one.
So how's the end of the world coming along on that side? Any progress yet, or are they running late?
I guess the REAL question is how much of the case is left. :)
Darn blind dates anyway.
I usually dont mind them as long as they can keep up and the stick doesn't get in the way.
Actually, I just found that one, although it does give me ideas...
Well, I'm kind of confused as to where he's supposed to appear. I know the bright lights are supposed to be Tehran's responsibility, the the Imam himself....Najaf? Baghdad? (Be still, my heart!)
Was that on the invitations? I've misplaced mine.
I think Midland, Texas actually.
Oh, you know, they do all that "bukkhara insh'Allah" stuff. Nothing ever runs on time in this part of the world.
At this rate, I'll have to get another case of Tuborg. {sigh...}
Damn Iranians have probably lost the matches again...
I think it is over a well in a small village 30 minutes outside of Tehran. But they built some kind of cage over the well to keep people from jumping in, so I'm confused about the logistics.
That's true - I'd forgotten about the pre-game speeches and whatnot. You might want to up that Tuborg order!
I wonder what the halftime show will be.
I'm betting we can pretty much rule out Janet Jackson.
Oh well, it looks like I have to come to work tomorrow.
Actually, that's a pretty good idea.....;D
I think there's going to be some light show out of Tehran or something.
They're saying we should have no problem seeing it from here.
In fact, Ahmadinejad said it would even be visible in Tel Aviv.
LOL!
We're all still here?
Geez....

DISSAPOINTED!
