Jet Scare Over Asian Men 'Helps Terrorists' (UK)

Jet scare over Asian men 'helps terrorists'

(Filed: 21/08/2006)

An airline yesterday stood by its decision to remove two Asian men from a holiday jet bound for Britain despite criticism from a Muslim group.

The two passengers were asked to leave Monarch flight ZB613 from Malaga to Manchester, apparently because other passengers became alarmed that the men were wearing heavy clothing and kept checking their watches. Cabin crew informed the Spanish authorities of the passengers' fears and the men were taken off the flight.

One of the passengers told a Sunday newspaper: "Some of the older children, who had seen the terror alert on television, were starting to mutter things like 'Those two look like they are bombers'. Some of the passengers were in tears."

After security checks the men boarded a later flight.

Yesterday an Islamic human rights group blamed "ever-increasing Islamophobia".

Massoud Shadjareh, the chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, said: "It is counterproductive, not just because it is going to alienate people who are perceived to be Muslim, but also because terrorists have shown that they will make themselves look completely different to how people perceive them to look.

"By profiling people on the basis of ethnicity or religion we are actually endangering our lives."

Patrick Mercer, the Conservative homeland security spokesman, described the incident as a victory for terrorists.

"These people on the flight have been terrorised into behaving irrationally. For those unfortunate two men to be victimised because of the colour of their skin is just nonsense."

Khalid Mahmood, the Labour MP for Birmingham, said: "I think that what happened is just hugely irrational." Monarch confirmed that the men were removed, but would not give details of what they had done to arouse the fears of the other passengers.

Islamophobia????

A phobia implies something is irrational. We know for a fact a large number of Muslims want to kill Americans. Nothing irrational about that.

Gee...I can't imagine why there's ever increasing Islamophobia. Anyone? Anyone?

I've yet to hear one of these so-called human rights groups denounce Islamofacists for hijacking their so-called religion of peace.

Maybe it will happen.

Maybe someday when the average Muslim begins to fear their host countries more than they do the Islamofacists.

And maybe someday I'll win the powerball jackpot too.

I was thinking the same thing about not profiling!

I truly fail to see how terrorists are helped....
This tells me the passengers are willing to send a message (an action) to those persons known or thought to be terrorists.
I bet terrorists world wide are regrouping wondering how to get by the passengers.....the terrorists beat screening (TSA, or whoever) and bang the passengers sink the plan (even if there isn't one)......
LOL.......I love it......

terrorists have shown that they will make themselves look completely different to how people perceive them to look.

How? By transforming themselves into 80-year old white haired grandmas from Minnesota? I have yet to see a picture of a terrorist or "suspected" terrorist (viz. the plotters foiled in Canada) that didn't look exactly as I perceived they would: youngish surly Arab males with facial hair and soul-dead eyes.

with all the articles on this event, I have yet to read either 1) the nationality of the men or 2) the language they were actually speaking.

you would figure if they were speaking hindi or were from some place not terror-related that would be trumpeted.

I look at "Islamaphobia" like I do "racial profiling". The reprehensible actions of a group of Muslim extremests have set the stage for it to occur. Don't blame us for it, place the blame where it belongs.

What's with this ridiculous "Asian" mantra? We all know they are Muslims. Britain is going down the tubes, and they are still putting lipstick on the PC pig. They deserve the next attack...and there certainly will be another.

I think we've got another one of those Euro-weenie code words in usage. Asian is now being used to describe Middle Eastern Arabs. Just like in those French muslim riots, muslim rioters were always referred to in the Euro-weenie press as "youth".

I don't get it..!

I've hit my thumb with a hammer 27 times, and now guess what...? I'm getting nervous about using a hammer..!

How can I remedy this? I want the anxiety to go away..!

ALSO:

At different points in my youth, CLOWNS molested me. I figger it happened...9 times.

I've developed this weird, nagging fear of clowns.

Am I intolerant?

Patrick Mercer, the Conservative homeland security spokesman, described the incident as a victory for terrorists.

Anytime some "action" is actually taken the brain dead appeasers claim it's a victory for the terrorists.

So I guess the solution is to sit back and always do nothing.

You will awake from a fitful sleep just in time to see the flash of a knife across your throat.

My shrink tells me my aversion to hammers HELPS hammers, and my fear of bad clowns has the effect of HELPING those bad clowns.

He says if I really want to stick it to clown molesters, then I should switch my thinking around: I SHOULD LIKE CLOWNS.

He also says I should GET NAKED with them.

Should I keep paying this guy?
