Finally, I’ll close by posting this excerpt from a recent Washington Post article:

"We certainly get a lot of requests for her [to speak and fundraise on behalf of GOP candidates]," said press secretary Susan Whitson, adding that the first lady harbors few illusions about her appeal. "She always says, 'I'm popular because I don't have to make all the hard decisions.' "

That’s partly true. But I would add that this First Lady is popular because of one other reason: she is a lady.

Funny and true story, a few years ago I was on vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks (MO) and a man walked up to me and said, "Wow, you look just like her". I said, "Who?" He said, "Well, Laura Bush, of course."

IMHO, I don't, but it was quite a compliment....
