The president and first lady returned to the White House today after a brief rest at Camp David. With no other news to report and only a few new photos available, todays Dose will be dedicated to the fairer half of the first couple: Laura Bush.
Enjoy your Sunday visit to Sanity Island
Photo of the Day:
Mrs. Laura Bush appears before an audience of U.S. and Coalition troops, Wednesday, March 1, 2006, during a visit to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, where President George W. Bush thanked the troops for their service in defense of freedom.
Please wait for the all clear before posting or reposting photos, thanks.
Ha....so you are our new host?....WTG...
Hi Jonny. Thanks for today's Dose. I'm thrilled you're doing it. I will stay only a short bit, then have errands to run. Will be back later, though. Great idea to do a tribute to the First Lady.
bump for Laura~

Great foto of Laura!
Top ten again?
Thank you.
You're luck is holding, Jonny. You get to post the first new photo of Jenna we've seen in a long time. Plus a great photo of Barney. Now which of the two did you most enjoy posting? ;)
When George W. Bush first considered a career in politics, his wife Laura said, Okay, as long as I don't have to make any speeches.
In a 2004 interview, Matt Lauer asked, Wow, whatever happened to that deal?
Exactly, replied the First Lady, laughing. What did happen to that deal?
Today, Laura Bush is almost as visible on the world stage as her husband, traveling all over the globe, meeting with national leaders, showing support for our troops and, yes, making plenty of speeches.
She does all these things not because of any personal political ambition (unlike her predecessor), but because the job simply demands it. With the United States at warboth with the Islamic fascists that want to destroy us and with the traitors here who want to help themthe role of the first lady has been forced to expand beyond its traditional boundaries. And Mrs. Bush has risen to the task.
Oooops...make that "your luck" instead of "you're." This is not Arabic. ;-)
No other president has had to carry a burden like George W. Bush. He has endured slanderous lies, political attacks and personal threats, all while having to make some of the toughest decisions this country has ever faced.
Two things, I believe, have seen him through these storms:
First and foremost, his unwavering faith in Christ.
And second, the unwavering devotion of his wife.
Laura Bush shows support for the troops, whenever and wherever possible.
Laura Bush thanks the men and women of the United States Military and the National Guard and Reserves for their service to our Nation during her remarks in Winter Haven, Fla., Saturday, May 1, 2004 "You are the face of American compassion abroad. You will have a greater impact than you can ever imagine on people that you will only know for a brief time. But you have delivered the greatest gift they will ever know -- you've sacrificed your own comfort, your own safety, and your own lives so that others might know freedom."

A military mom waits to greet Laura Bush with a special message during Mrs. Bush's visit to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina Tuesday, May 8, 2001. "President Bush also joins me in saying 'thank you' to our nation's military personnel for your service. We deeply appreciate the sacrifices you make for our nation...and the pride and honor you bring to our Armed Services."
A gentle reminder: On the Dose the custom is to wait for the day's host to give the all clear before posting other images of any kind. Also, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but the Dose is a non-political thread.
Super job, Jonny. Will see you later. Have fun. :)
Love it!
