InSane may be right on WOT and Abortion, but he has stabbed Conservatives in the back far too many times to expect our support. He is toast in the primaries w/o a key group, Republicans.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

Yeah, right. It's as if I said, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush," and you said, "oh no! It harms the bird! And you might get hurt!"

Anyone reading my post had to see that I didn't really believe McCain was a loose cannon and no one can seriously make the case that he is. Yes, a bit unpredictable on some things.

Words have meaning. So do metaphor.

If Lieberman does win, he has said he will vote with the Dem caucus. So, all this race proves is the inability of the GOP to capitalize on a split Democrat party in CT. It is still a win-win for the Dems. Lieberman is liberal on almost every issue, except the WoT.

I agree 100 per cent

I'll bet you a dollar he's not toast and that he'll be on the 08 ticket.

I haven't seen McCain "stab" any conservative in the back. Disagree with some conservatives, perhaps, but he's always done exactly what he said he would do.

If he is your candidate you can have him.

If McCain were only looking out for himself, he would not have taken the unpopular positions he has, especially on the WOT

The needing more troops, and doing this and that and arm chair quarterbacking the WOT etc. is all just more Mccainiac triangulation/BS IMHO. I don't believe a word that comes out of his or Hillary's mouth, haven't for some time.

Remember every time Mccain has said yes on an issue he has also said no, Just like Hillary! These people are just full of it and are not to be trusted.

If I were going, I'd be curious to know the status of the pending immigration legislation. That awful Senate bill passed, but has the House taken the issue up again, or are they cravenly waiting until after the November elections?

The last I heard is that the Senate has still not sent the bill over to the House. The Senate must remove the revenue portion of the bill before it can be sent over so the ball is in the Senate's court, not the House.

I differ....Liebermann would not be as a Democrat,
hence it is one less in the Senate for Dems..a big
plus for Repubs to hold the majority..don't you thnk?
Also, I think Liebermann would change a few things by
siding more with Repubs...since he was trated like a
piece of..sh$$ by the Dumbocrats.... Jake

#144, That is true, but today we have the DBM which is not too unlike the waaay Radical Left radio Talk Shows that are so filled with lunacy and lunatics that they cannot even get sponsors. They have to be propped up by stealing from money designated for local Charity Funds, and take big bucks from Lunatic fringe types like Moveon.orgies.

I'm sorry, but I have no problem with a guy who says "more troops" while backing the President 100%. And I can't think of a single issue where McCain has said "yes" and then "no." He's remarkably consistent.

The English language is lovely and can convey powerful meaning, but you have to understand what it is you say in order to make sense.

Being minimally acquainted with what a metaphor means is a prerequisite for making sense when you use it. Our education system and the demise of reading classical or historical literature diminishes our ability to properly use the tools our language gives us.

That sounds a good feature because obvious with IE the only way to do that is change your screen resolution and then you loose quality.

McCain also believes in "global warming." I see "global warming" as a tool to get more and more control over people. That is what appeals to McCain. Remember, McCain also said he would put "clean government" over the First Amendment. There was nothing "clean" about CFR. McCain made sure that it favored him. He said the business about contributions from tribes would be fixed. It has not.

The base is sorely in need of some action

The frustration level is high. There are some things GW could do that he is not but many require a stronger voting block in congress. Once again I would not take his job for anything. I still see our best bets as being totally activist and supporting the best candidates we can whenever we can.

You know, it's ok to be around a loose cannon until it is aimed at you. Too often, McCain has aimed the cannon at parts of the RNC: the Christian right, borders security people, military, etc. And I am talking about those shots which are apart from his stab-in-the-back actions against the President.

However, my concern about McCain goes beyond this complaint. I think he is emotionally unstable, and is unfit to be President because of that. In addition, I am dead certain the media is pushing him in order to set us up with a candidate in which they have ready-made attacks already written.

For this same reason I would not support him in the office of Secretary of Defense or Vice President.

However, if by some disaster he gets the nomination, I will support him because his cabinet nominees would be drawn from the Republicans' deep bench, instead of the leftists of the democrats. I would vote for him and pray that the people surrounding him kept him under control, and would install the VP if he got too nutso.
