Al-Zawahiri's Connection to the Balkans
Banner of Liberty ^ | 19 August 2006 | Stella L. Jatras

Posted on 08/19/2006 8:29:04 PM PDT by Doctor13

A Time/CNN report stated, "Al-Qaeda terrorists came within 45 days of attacking the New York subway system with a lethal gas similar to that used in Nazi death camps. They were stopped not by any intelligence breakthrough, but by an order from Osama bin Laden's deputy, Ayman Zawahiri.

Al-Qaeda's decade long activities in the Balkans were well known, as reported in The Wall Street Journal article of 1 November 2001: "For the past 10 years, the most senior leaders of al Qaeda have visited the Balkans, including bin Laden himself on three occasions between 1994 and 1996. The Egyptian surgeon turned terrorist leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has operated terrorist training camps, weapons of mass destruction factories and money-laundering and drug-trading networks throughout Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia [FYROM], Bulgaria, Turkey and Bosnia."

As long ago as 1992, Jerry Seper of The Washington Times, sounded the alarm when he wrote "KLA Rebels Training Camp," and that "some members of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which has financed its war effort through the sale of heroin, were trained in terrorist camps run by international fugitive Osama bin Laden" Seper goes on to write: "Jane's Intelligence Review estimated in March that drug sales could have netted the KLA profits in the 'high tens of millions of dollars.' It said the KLA had rearmed itself for a spring offensive with the aid of drug money, along with donations from Albanians in Western Europe and the United States."

A report which should have been a good indication of the quagmire that the Clinton administration was moving our country towards was witten by Army LTC John E. Sray, titled, "Selling the Bosnian Myth to America: Buyer Beware," covering Bosnian Muslim government propaganda.

Journalist Julia Gorin of Front Page Magazine on 20 March 2006, asks, "How many Americans know that the terrorists who carried out a spate of suicide attacks in Iraq in August 2004 were trained in Bosnia, or that al Qaeda's top Balkans operative al-Zawahiri's brother Mohammed had a high position with our terrorist KLA 'allies'?." Apparently, terrorism is a family affair.

The signs were all there, yet nobody connected the dots that would have led them back to the terrorists in Bosnia like al-Zawahiri and bin Laden himself. With all of this available information, congressional hearings, the 9/11 Commission Reports and numerous political organizations and advocacy groups have ignored the festering sore of Islamic terrorism in the Balkans.

President Bush assured us that we would never negotiate with terrorists, yet on 19 June, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Ceku, an indicted war criminal. According to Jane's, in 1993 Ceku masterminded the massacre of Bosnian Serbs at Medak. Also known as The Battle of the Medak Pocket, the battle is remembered in Canada as that nation's largest military action since the Korean War when Croatian troops attacked The Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry who were trying to stop the ruthless massacre of Serbian women and children. In 1995, Ceku was one of the key planners of "Operation Storm," which ethnically cleansed over 250,000 Serbs from their ancestral homes in the Krajina region. Thousands of Serbian civilians were murdered, most of the victims being elderly and disabled persons who were unable to flee the carnage.

The American Council for Kosovo> (www.savekosovo.org ) is working to prevent another colossal mistake in the Balkans, a mistake that would be detrimental to US interests. The last thing America needs is another rogue state run by terrorists and criminals.

NO you are 10 years too late...as usual.

We should have let the Serbs destroy the Muslims apparatus in the 92...but we let the gang that couldn't shoot straight or at all control the WH of 8 lost years.

Serbs: our allies

Balkan Muslims: enemies

Got it?

And here are excerpts from http://www.shofar.de/disinformation-e.html :

Dictionary of "appropriate wording":
- assassinate = kill, when your enemies are killing.
- mass grave = where your enemies have buried your friends.
- war criminal = who makes war and is not of your side. Very often (and perfidiously) used to indicate someone indicted for war crimes and not yet sentenced guilty.
- extremist = more extremist than you.
- fascist = to be pronounced first by you, because it can be applied to you as well as to your enemy.
- racist = who makes a difference between Islam and Christianity.
- terrorist = who uses violence and is not of your side.
- deviationist = in a political group, who does not agree with you.
- totalitarian = politics of your enemy.
- fanatic = someone who believes in something different than you.
- nationalist = who loves his country and is not of your side.

Example of use of appropriate wording (interpretation) :
In the following list, there are two different ways to describe the SAME FACT. Note that whatever formula is chosen, it can perfectly be inverted from pro- to anti-, and there is no way to be accused of lying or even distorting the truth.
- Serbs are killed, Albanians are massacred or assassinated.
- Serbs dig mass graves, Albanians dig tombs or communal graves.
- A Serbian soldier with a Kalashnikov is a sniper, a KLA soldier with a Kalashnikov is a freedom fighter.
- Serbian corpses have battlefield wounds; Albanian corpses have traces of tortures.
- Serbian refugees are leaving Kosovo; Albanians refugees are ethnically cleansed from Kosovo.
- A Serbian refugee convoy is a line of cars; an Albanian refugee convoy is a deportation.
- Ethnical cleansing of Albanians is an atrocity, ethnical cleansing of Serbs is a logical payback.
- A smiling Serbian soldier is arrogant, a smiling KLA soldier is happy.
- Serbian soldiers are slovenly-looking, KLA soldiers clearly suffer from equipment problems.
- Serbian civilians killed by NATO are collateral damage; Albanian civilians killed by NATO are a terrible mistake.
- Serbian civilians killed by Albanians are war casualties, Albanian civilians killed by Serbians are war crime victims.
- Milosevic is Milosevic; Clinton is the President of United States Bill Clinton.
- There are Albanian eyewitness' corroborating testimonies reporting that..., there are Serbs saying that...
- Serbs living near a military target are neighbor population, Albanians living near a military target are a human shield.
- A successful Serbian attack is a slaughter, a successful KLA attack is a victory.
- Serbian nationalists are extremists, Albanian nationalists are patriots.
- Serbs commit atrocities, Albanians commit exactions.
- Ten torched Serbian houses are a brutal reality; ten torched Albanian houses are evidence of Serb savagery.
- Serbs insulting Albanians are making terror reign, Albanians insulting Serbs are angry people taking revenge for their humiliation.
- Serbian soldiers take Muslim enclaves, Albanian soldiers defend their homeland.
- The Krajina is liberated by the Croats; the Bosnia is occupied by the Serbs.
....

The gigantism of the "Operation Serbia" gave rise to number of false notes.

- A child killed by a sniper in a bus (Sarajevo, Aug 1992) called "muslim" by the TV. The funerals show Orthodox ritual.
- A 1992 TV report showing Serb victims in Vukovar, reprinted with the caption "Is there any way to stop Serbian atrocities in Bosnia?" (Newsweek, Jan 4, 1993)
- Reports of massacres of 14 Muslims and then 10 Muslims supposedly killed by Serbs (CNN March and May 1993). The victims later turned out to be Serbs. Not corrected.
- Photo of a Croat woman from Posusje grieving for a son killed in Serb attacks (NY times Aug 1993). Fighting in the Croat village of Posusje was between Muslims and Croats and has caused 34 Bosnian Croat deaths, including the son of the woman in the photo.
- A photo of a woman in front of the grave of her son, presented as Croat. The name is written in Cyrillic, she is Serb.
- A photo of a tortured man with the 3 main fingers cut, presented as Muslim. He has his wedding ring at the 4th finger of its right hand, he is a Serb.
- Armed paramilitary men, particularly sinister, presented as Serbs. They wear the Croat check pattern insignia (Corrected and apologized by "Le Nouvel Observateur", No 1470 and 1473).
- Testimony of Anisa, a child, saying that she saw Serbs cutting noses and ears in Tuzla. Tuzla has never been occupied by Serbs.
- Images of a fragments of a downed "Mig-29" (CTV Mar 26, 1999, 22h42). There is a mention in English "ANNUAL INSP" +references painted on one of the fragments.

As a conclusion, Serbia is now synonym of Nazi Germany, and the Serbian people, sentenced to poverty and slow death by years of embargo and full devastation by the US+NATO coalition, is now considered by all the West as the pariahs of mankind. The "Operation Serbia" has been 100% successful.

Congratulations. Sad but true.

Serbs: our allies

Balkan Muslims: enemies

Got it?

Here's a list of our coalition partners.

See Bosnia Herzegovina? Yup.
See Serbia? Nope.

As a matter of fact, the only two countries in the former Yugoslavia not present in the coalition are Montenegro and Serbia.

Hmmm... As a matter of fact, the only two countries in the Balkans not present in the coalition are Montenegro and Serbia.

Got it?

Of course not - you just wouldn't be you if you did. I'd point out to you that President Bush the Senior set the tone for our relations with Serbia back in 1992 when he imposed sanctions on Belgrade, but it would just be a waste of time - so you go right on believing it was all Clinton, and that the current President Bush is being stymied in his efforts to embrace the Serbian people by a hidden conspiracy of Clinton-era holdouts, or embrace an alternate reality where Serbia is our ally and any evidence to the contrary can simply be ignored.

If some third party was going to hand over a nice chunk of your property to someone you don't particularly care for, can you blame the Serbs for reacting the way they are in regards to Kosovo? Now do you get it!

I also see Saudi Arabia on that list, and if you think Saudis are "our friends", then you are one lost caue.

You said that the main reason that you came to FR was basically "to make the Serbs pay" -- so tell me when is it enough? Serbs have paid more and longer than Germany did for WWII, and according to you, it's still "not enough"!

Get a life an get a grip, Hoppie. Islam is not "our friend" and it is not the friend of anyone who loves freedom and democracy!

Lemme see if I understand this correctly:

You take the following statement:

No angle other than ensuring the facts get their fair shot, and my stake is simply continuing the thread of what initially brought me onto Freerepublic in the first place - taking issue with Serbs who bitch about how America is wronging them, instead of honestly looking at the reasons behind America's treatment of Serbia.

and turn it into

to make the Serbs pay

Do I have that right? Or were you referring to some other post I made? If so, be specific, with a link, please.

"We're not fighting their lost ethnic wars for them, no matter how hard or creatively they or their friends try to rebrand them."

The only reason we went to the former-Yugo in the first place was because YOUR FRIENDS "wanted us to fight their lost ethnic war for them" -- and they did it by lying to us and using us. Every American Serb I know wanted the US to stay out of it, because we knew we were being lied to. So don't try and turn this around, Hoplite.

We had no business gettiing involved in the Balkans, period. But now that we made a mess, we need to clean it up. The Serbs have never done a damn thing against the US and have done much for it -- if that isn't the definition of "a friend", I don't know what is!

I know you're lurking and hanging around Hoplite...
There still may be some hope for you.   Read and
understand this article,
specially the last paragraph!

History of Jihad

"The relations of Muslims and non-Muslims were set in a context of a war:  jihad. Its justification by Qur'anic verses and hadiths provides to jihad, the war against non-Muslims, a theological base. Jihad establishes a single pattern for relations between Muslims and non-Muslims and is central to their relationship. Jihad can be examined at three levels: its doctrine, its institutions, and its historical manifestations."

"The ideology of jihad was conceived after Muhammad death. It encompasses a doctrine aiming at the Islamization of the world, supported by military institutions and tactics of war, all being considered as binding the Islamic community (umma). Jihad represents the Islamic worldview of war and peace, it constitutes a specialized domain of Islamic theology and law."

"Jihad doctrine divides the peoples of the world into two irreconcilable groups: the dar al-Islam (the land of Islam) and the dar al-harb, (land of war) the non-Muslim world, destined to come under Islamic jurisdiction either by the peaceful conversion of its inhabitants, or by armed conflict.  Jihad is the permanent state of war of the dar al-Islam against infidels until they submit to Islamic domination. Peace is accepted only temporarily according to circumstances. The institution of jihad regulates the conduct of war according to religious rules."

Thank you.
Yes, paragraph three, as short as it is, explains volumes about the world wide beast we're confronting in Bosnia and Kosovo.   All PC niceties must be put aside and go directly to the words, and their meaning in #3 to understand what evil has been placed on the earth.

Clearly, if Bosnia and Kosovo falls to Islamofacists, all of Europe will be facing a UN sanctioned al Qaeda stronghold. As I mentioned in another post, conceivably Osama bin Laden could move there, and become a prime minister or president, with all diplomatic amenities.   IMO, the long term consequences in Bosnia and Kosovo are being taken way to lightly by Western governments.

To compare Bush senior's Sanctions - with Klinton's indiscriminate bombing of Serb civilians requires the gall only those who smoke crystal meth can exhibit.

Yes - the coalition: That coalition includes Saudi Arabia and Yemen. LOL.

The only positive thing is that the Serbian red berets are in Iraq now. A couple thousand more would do the trick.

In the event of conflict in Kosovo caused by Serbian action, the U.S. will be prepared to employ military force against Serbians in Kosovo and in Serbia proper.
Dec 24, 1992. "Christmas Warning" from GHW Bush to Slobodan Milosevic.

Some people you just can't reach.

As far as gall, how's about calling a 79 day bombing campaign, comprising 23,300 strike missions, of which 90 (0.39%) caused civilian casualties "indiscriminate"?

I'd note that Yemen has had and continues to have US Special Forces operating in the country alongside Yemeni forces in the War on Terror, and the invasion of Iraq wouldn't have been possible without the cooperation of Saudi Arabia, but it would be pointless, wouldn't it.

Lastly, if we wanted to lose our wars, we'd invite the Serbs along. They're such subject matter experts in getting their asses handed to them that their biggest holiday is the commemoration of a national defeat - d'oh.

ergo..those "defeats" were Political losses, not military losses. To note, the VRS was counterattacking the C-M Fed, the Croats began aligning themselves with VRS units around B.Luka.

The VRSK split the HVO into two before Slobo ordered VRSK arty officers appointed by Slobo to shell his own troops that were disobeying his orders. The KLA was having their asses handed to them by the Serb Army bfore the KLA cried mercy and had to call in NATO.

If you claim the Serbs are such bad soldiers, why does it take an international force to confront them? But, the Serbs still are not defeated but immediately counterattack and regain lost ground..further baffling and quite literally pissing off the NATO planners and Administration. "how can the Bosnian Serb Army continue being this effective with the sustainment of bombing they are enduring?"

Yet, it still didnot do the job. It was a political defeat, much like Vietnam was a "political defeat"...sound familiar, schmuck?
