HURRAY FOR HOLLYWOOD:
NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.
The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.
It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.
"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.
"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."
Indeed. (Thanks to Jules Crittenden for the link).
Don Johnson's a conservative? Didn't know that. Now I like the TV version of Miami Vice even more than the movie.
Wow. Do you think that some are finally getting it?
Yes, I think it is good to link threads (especially for future reference).
And as I said, this one has MUCH more info. :-)
And as I said, the one I pinged you to has MUCH more info. :-)
Patricia Heaton, in addition to being darned cute,is an outspoken pro-lifer.
Good to know that not everyone in Hollyweird is a good little Dhimmi. I guess some of them got word that if the Muzzies ever took over, their heads would be the first to roll.
Dennis Hopper is a fantastic actor, too. His performance in "Blue Velvet" was magnificent.
No; they're just looking at this year's movie receipts.
That movie marked the beginning of his clean and sober outlook on life.
Ummm...I'm guessing you mean "John Hancock"?
BigB, I stand corrected! I was torn between Hancock and Henry and was too lazy to look it up. Thanks.
What about Crint Eastwood? :)
Nice PR move. Pardon my cynicism but I worked with and around actors on the left coast for a number of years. Though I'm sure some of those people are sincere, I'd be willing to bet the majority of them joined the effort in order to separate themselves from Sarandon, Sean Penn, etc.
The movie business is and has been in trouble. With the exception of blockbuster films, box office receipts have been down for quite some time. The math's pretty easy from there.
It's interesting that Kelly Preston signed, but not hubby John. Hmmmmm.
Hard to sign your name when you've been dead for over a year. He will vote in this years election though!
