Write the president and tell him this cease fire brought on by his administration is just another attempt to appease the terrorist. Terrorist win yet again. Iran is still trumping around in Lebanon, the UN with no real authority has no real powers to disarm hezbollah who has NOT agreed to disarm. Iran still has agents in Iraq running death squads and terror cells. Muqtada-AL-Sadr being the most famous one. When will the US buckle up and do what finally needs to be done instead of worry about oil prices? We all know what this cease fire will bring. Take action and write the president and tell him what you think of this balony BS move of his. STAND BY ISRAEL

Right. In war you never agree to a cease fire, until the enemy is defeated. Calling for a cease fire with an enemy that is still capable of killing you is basically cutting your own throat.

not sure you can really call Olmert a true leftie. he was Likud before he followed Sharon to form Kadima. i do believe he wasn't ready for the international stage.

No kidding. We need a cease fire in iraq... UN resolution for the US. Muqtada Al-Sadr and the iranian terrorist win!

I object to your characterization that Israel lost this encounter. Hezbollah will not be forced to disarm. Israel didn't get their soldiers back. And Nasrallah has emerged as an even greater political force in Lebanon and will be the prime minister in a few short years.
Other than that, Israel came out smelling like a rose.

Kind of amazing how America can invade another Country to fight terrorist, when Israel does it, she must "show restraint".Drop leaflets on the enemy telling them what hour of the day they are going to bomb. It's ludicrous.
Quite the double standard.

Netanyahu stated the importance of nurturing military, state, economic and spiritual strength: "A hundred years ago, our people did not have such capabilities. A leader, Herzl, saw the burning coals of anti-Semitism and understood that there was a threat of a fire that would threaten the Jews of Europe and eventually the Jews of the rest of the world. Today I say: we are standing before a grave danger. A new potential fire threatens our people. Not only our soldiers, citizens and economy, but our very existence." "Yes, in each generation there are those that rise up seeking our destruction. But since Hitler, there has not risen such a bitter enemy as Iran's president, Ahmadinejad, who openly declares his desire to annihilate us and his development of nuclear weapons in order to carry out this desire. Until he carries out his scheme, he is using his covert forces: in the south, Hamas, a Sunni force, and in the north, Hizbullah, a part of the Shiite arc that extends from Tehran to Lebanon," Netanyahu elaborated.
Bibi is the answer to this crisis of government. Not protests against our president.
Olmert went wobblie.

That's right, this is President Bush's fault too! Sheesh. Israel needs a new leader , not us.

Can't you think of something more substantive to say? Quit pretending to be so superior. You don't like Bush--that's all there is to it.

There is an old saying, "make your bed and lay in it to sleep."
The Jews did it...no one else. They don't dance to the music of Bush or anyone else...only their people.
In this case, the people wanted to appease the enemy as they had done many times in the past and it will certainly come back to haunt them as it has many times in the past.
Blame the Jewish populace, they voted in the timid leaders they have.
They chart their own course and their own destiny.

Hey, I didn't tell Israel to pull the plug after a month so they could forge a feel-good fake-peace with Hezbollah.
The difference between the war in Iraq and the war in Lebanon is the U.S. has a leader who was prepared to deal with the political ramifications of a long, ugly (but necessary) war. Israel does not. Now Israel gets to fight a longer, uglier war against a stronger enemy somewhere down the road.

Why don't you STFU? You still haven't made a meaningful comment. You've moved from "Y'all are so dumb [and I'm so smart]" to playing the sympathy card. Take your own advice. You shut up.

From what I have read the people of Israel are ticked off with the decision of their government. If it was Bibi I dont think we would be having this conservation right now. When Bibi was in charge they reached that river in three days.
Olmert handcuffed his military.
Damn the politicians to hell that send soldiers out to fight and then limit their ability to win.
