August 13, 2006 -- AS Israel and Hezbollah wrap up their warring, the winner may not yet be clear - but the loser is: us. The enemies of modernity and freedom have grown stronger in the past weeks. So our fight ahead will be tougher.
In Lebanon, much of the outcome is now known. Israel won't deliver a coup de grace to the terrorists; they're too numerous, shadowy and well-armed. Jerusalem isn't willing to sustain large lossses (who can blame it?) or kill large numbers of "civilians."
So a rump Hezbollah will reconstitute, with losses replenished by Damascus and Tehran. (Indeed, since it's an extension of Iran, you can't wipe out Hezbollah without confronting Iran, too.)
The region will see Hezbollah's survival as a victory - and rally round.
None of which means this battle was entirely fruitless for Israel. It took out much of Hezbollah's infrastructure (and Lebanon's). Hezbollah used up rockets, lost fighters and ground and revealed the scope of its assets and tactics. And, at the least, Jerusalem has reminded all its enemies that there is a steep (if not decisive) cost for attacks on the Jewish state.
But the war hints at what may now be in store for the West: a massive, implacable foe, including radical Islamic states and terrorists of every stripe. Countless Arabs and Muslims may think the clash of civilizations is tilting in their favor, that the moment to make their epic stand has arrived.

In 1944, enormous casualties on D-Day didn't slow the Allies. The loss of "innocent" lives in Berlin and Dresden did not stop air bombardment. Anyone who doesn't see the coming battle is willfully blind.
Yet fighting it early, on our terms, could limit its costs. And give us our best chance

Can't speak for the authors but Freepers are much more likely than the average person to be skilled and/or motivated to seek and find information beyond the MSM talking points.
With the UN as moderator, how can Israel prevail? Israel should listen to their own hearts for their survival, because the UN cannot, by it's very idealogy, support freedom of any country especially a Christian or Jewish one.
IS this it? I DON'T KNOW. But neither do any of the Doom and Gloom Chicken Littles. So MAYBE one time we could let events unfold a bit before the usual suspects rush for the sackcloth and ashes?

You don't know how biblical that statement is.
Most in this country don't... or at least don't realize what we'll have to do in order to win it.
That knife cuts both ways. Sooner or later, countless numbers within Western Civilization will come to the realization that once Islam has contaminated a people’s soul, they can no longer be treated as human beings. We must remove Muslims from among us and quarantine them just as one must quarantine mad dogs, as they are both equally unfit to live among civilized people.
Secondly, we must stop pouring our wealth into the Middle East in payment for the oil beneath the sand. They don’t use our largess to improve their lives; they just use it to attack us. But not for our misguided payment for something we should simply seize, Muslims would be unable to travel to our shores and plant their inhuman hate and disgusting habits among a free and democratic people. Muslims would be forced to squat in the squalor of their desert hovels where they could abuse their women, love their livestock, and worship their Satanic God to their heart’s content. And the Western world would be much better off without them among us.
If you think my comments are a bit over the top, maybe you just don’t as yet fully comprehend the depth of the threat now confronting Western Civilization. We must do what must be done to eliminate this threat, or our civilization and its entire people will fall into extinction.

Very much like rabies. Once your family dog has it it's all over. No matter how much you love the dog or what you are willing to spend to save the dog's life you have no choice in the matter.
I would highly suggest that we be ready. We may need ALL our assets. I am just proud that we have a clear thinker for president, one who is not afraid. I believe that great courage will be required to do what we ultimately will have to do. I can't see any turning back now.
That would be icing-on-the-cake or vice-versa. Now throw in Mahmoud on a spit while being shish-Kebobed and I would be ecstatic.
